MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - The former Minneapolis Police Officers accused of killing George Floyd made court appearances in downtown Minneapolis Monday where a judge set a trial date for next year and warned public officials to stop talking about the case publicly.

The Hennepin County judge made it clear to public officials and family members of the victims and officers during the hearings Monday that he will move the trial out of Hennepin County if they continue to comment on the innocence or guilt of the officers involved in this case.

“From this day forward, everyone has a warning,” the judge said, threatening a gag order or a change-in-venue.

The judge warned public officials to stop using “control or influence” and to limit their public comments. He said he “isn’t going to be happy,” if he hears more publicly.

The judge said he is open to allowing cameras in the courtroom and broadcasting of the trial.

The judge set the trials to begin in March 2021. The next hearings in this case are scheduled for Sept. 11.

A new court filing from the attorneys of Kueng show that he intends to plead not guilty due to self defense, reasonable force and authorized use of force.

March 2021...Start of the trial...

I think the trial must take place outside Minneapolis area...

I have a feeling that Attorney General Keith Ellison is not going to listen to the judge's instructions about not making public comments...

A long time ago I heard Navy officers say about the so=called Tailhook Affair, that there are times that one must defend the indefensible in order to defend a much larger truth. Since the death of the Minneapolis Moose my attitudes towards the MPD members has shifted 180 degrees. I encourage contributions to their trial funds, all of them. I also encourage a contribution to Mrs. David Dorn, if you are interested I have the address.

I agree - in fact, it should probably move out of state.

The day before charges were filed an official said there was evidence indicating there would be no charges (most likely Floyd’s poor health, drug use, and resisting in the police car (the officers believe he had excited dementia and called the paramedics)). But overnight there was more violence and destruction. The next day charges were filed. Now two of the officers can’t even make bail. You’re supposed to be innocent until proven guilty.

You’re supposed to be innocent until proven guilty.

In new Soviet Amerika you are guilty until forever.

There’s no way that they can get a fair trial *anywhere on this planet*.

The plain, undeniable, fact of the matter is that this shouldn't have happened. The dead guy shouldn't have resisted arrest while jacked up on a drug lord's cocktail and the cop shouldn't have had his knee on the dead guy's neck for as long as he did.

Shared responsibility...dead guy and cop.

Now the Maoist, moslem,Keith Ellison wants to put at least one of the cops away for 30 years. And although I'm not a lawyer and don't know a lot about Minnesota's population it looks like he just might succeed.

This guy will spend the rest of his life appealing his sentence because I really don’t see how he can get a fair trial unless the trial is moved to Mars.

What exactly does the judge think that can be said that hasn’t already been said? There is no way that these officers can get a fair and impartial jury in Minneapolis—perhaps nowhere in the U. S. The Salem witches had a similar problem.

It is called Excited Delirium. (not dementia) Not uncommon with cocaine use and now we are finding when on Fentanyl & speed as well. Typically the user will go from the happy go lucky to violent panic in a snap. Just like at Wendys.

Also there is Wooden Chest Syndrome that is an identified side effect of Fentanyl even in clinical use. WCS paralyzes the diaphragm making it difficult to breath while you are still conscious. Therefore one might say “I can’t breath”.

This happened to a neighbor of mine. According to witnesses, the first thing the paramedics did was sit on him to try and hold him still. The rest of his treatment was administered in the morgue.

Exactamundo. I have been on a Minneapolistan jury a few times. I have a feeling how I would vote.

It only takes one sensible juror and the guy goes free. They could try him again but it won’t work.

That would explain why the medical team that arrived on site were Sheriff Deputies and not the regular EMTs

I think that the trial cannot be moved out of Minnesota...

State of Minnesota is prosecuting the case...Therefore, the trial has to be held in Minnesota...

Unfortunately, you’re correct - but that doesn’t mean that it shouldn’t be moved out of state, simply that it won’t/can’t.
