A Texas prosecutor has resigned and will be replaced by another prosecutor after reportedly sharing a post on Facebook that compares protesters demonstrating against police brutality and racial inequality to Nazis, the Harris County District Attorney’s Office told ABC13 on Monday.

Kaylynn Williford, who works for District Attorney Kim Ogg, shared a Facebook post comparing protesters to Nazis, according to a screenshot shared on Facebook. The district attorney’s office confirmed the post was Williford’s, according to ABC13.

“Wedding bands that were removed from Holocaust victims prior to being executed, 1945. Each ring represents a destroyed family. Never forget, Nazis tore down statues. Banned free speech. Blamed economic hardships on one group of people. Institute gun control. Sound familiar?” the post read.

Williford is the trial bureau chief in the Harris County District Attorney's Office. She has served in the position since 1992, according to the office's website.

How many people in government have resigned for supporting the idea that Trump supporters are Nazis?

She’s 100% correct. Was she forced to resign?

Resigned in this context generally means, person was given an ultimatum, resign or be fired. If fired, that is something much harder to explain away in a job interview for a future position vs a resignation. In both cases, the person is out of work.

I wish I knew.

OTOH, it rather proves they are too civilized compared to the people who claim to be civilized (Choose Civility, comrades!) who attack them.

They step down rather than “get violent”.

Another public servant telling the truth is fired. Those who tell the truth are fired at a frightening rate.

Probably better to keep your mouth shut and do your job as an underground conservative. It’s stupid to open your mouth to anybody about anything these days and especially on social media.

Uh, resignation in lieu of firing.

It was a fine FB post.

This is the USA in 20 yrs.

The truth is dangerous. As a prosecutor she should know that.

Certain truths may not be uttered.

Big Brother is watching you.

Actually, Nazis is a pretty good analogy. They have even got their own "Kristallnacht" thing going on.

But it’s okay for anyone in the left to compare Trump to Nazi Germany ... and get by with it?

So Mattis wrote (in clear reference to President Trump) : “Instructions given by the military departments to our troops before the Normandy invasion reminded soldiers that ‘The Nazi slogan for destroying us ... was “Divide and Conquer.” Our American answer is “In Union there is Strength.”’

That’s ok, I guess. Laudable in fact.

I have heard many complaints from former Harris County prosecutors that Kim Ogg considers her political agenda more important than enforcing the law. That includes one young former prosecutor who is an admitted liberal Democrat.
