They need to get serious and get rid of the name “Princeton.”
Princeton University is named after the town of Princeton which was named after King William III, Prince William of Orange of the House of Nassau. It was originally called Princetown.
The English monarchy had a monopoly on the slave trade in the late 1600s through the “Royal African Company.”
So “Princeton” is a slave name.

As much as I despise Wilson's brand of liberal internationalism, what's going on right now is absolutely disgusting. Wrong-headed though it was, Wilson's worldview is something that America could and did survive. It won't survive "cancel culture" if today's trends continue (it's bad now with even many Republicans caving to the protesters, but can you imagine what it will be like if Trump isn't re-elected and we have VP Kamala Harris or Stacey Abrams egging BLM and Antifa on)?
NONE of us alive today, either black, brown, pink, green, polka dot, etc., had anything to do with the US role in slavery. Nothing. None of us. I refuse to answer for sins I didn’t commit. I have plenty of other things to atone for and don’t need more.
Further, I don’t need a truly privileged guy like the current Princeton President, Christopher Eisgruber, telling me anything about virtue, responsibility, or sacrifice. His father was an academic and a Dean, and made sure Christopher went to the best schools etc. That’s admirable, and I applaud his parents, but he needs to realize that this wasn’t the way most of us grew up, and that probably the great majority of us didn’t have parents who even knew what the SAT or ACT was.
The point is that he, like so many others in academics, are ironically the ones who don’t really understand the world, and who are truly insular.

If you dig enough, just about every historical figure of note said something that can bring Antifa and BLM types into hysterics. If the "woke" crowd keeps playing this game, and the powers that be keep on capitulating to their demands, pretty soon the only people it will be legal to honor with monuments and namings will be George Floyd and Trayvon Martin.
That works too. I was just trying to save the “S” for them so they wouldn’t have to completely redo their logos and uniforms.
