Stocks fell sharply on Wednesday as traders grew worried about the increasing number of newly confirmed coronavirus cases, which raised concern about the economic reopening and recovery.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 727 points, or 2.8%. The S&P 500 traded 2.8% lower while the Nasdaq Composite slid 2.6%. The tech-heavy Nasdaq was headed for its first daily decline in nine sessions.

The major averages hit their lows of the day after Florida said its confirmed cases jumped by 5,508 on Tuesday, a record, and now total 109,014. The state also said its positivity rate rose to 15.91% from 10.82%. Meanwhile, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut ordered visitors to quarantine for 14 days.

This "story" and others I have seen today; this is a coordinated effort by Soros, and others to drive the market down with phony stories of "positive tests"...complete bull crap and it pisses me off!!! It also is disappointing I can't find anyone else saying this rant...Even here in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, "the cases are rising today"...oh, we're all gonna die!!!

There’s only one statistic to look at and even that is somewhat fishy and that is guess who is dying from this stupid Wuhan flu ?

and the answer is almost nobody now

They’re doing like 10 million tests a day we didn’t even have testing two months ago so of course there’s gonna be more tests that show positive who gives a crap?

The beautiful thing is the media tries to get back in coronavirus mode after allowing these giant protest left and right with no social distancing masks or any concern about it at all is that we’re getting into summer yes summer SUMM ER hundred degree temperatures everywhere!!!

viruses don’t stand a chance in the summer

What are the hospitalization rates?

How severe are these positive cases?

The professional golf tour is playing with no fans. Yesterday, the second golfer tested positive. The first one feels fine, the second one has no symptoms. They are young and likely won’t get sick, and if they do, they’ll shake it off. But, they count as cases for the fear mongers.

The virus is going to be around for a while. We simply have to live with it. Not shut down, not hide, not radically alter our lives. Be smart, keep your distance, wear a mask around old folks, live your life.

I think the public is starting to come around to my way of thinking.

Florida, Georgia and the Southwest are following the Swedish model to achieve “herd immunity”. People under 50 will get infected, many will be tested and the number of documented cases will increase. However most will recover without serious illness or hospitalization. The key statistic to follow would be the number of hospitalizations, intubations and death rate. Knowing from the Northeast experience that mostly elderly are susceptible to serious illness and death allows for rational behavior. Right now it is best for the elderly and susceptible to isolate themselves. But absent an effective vaccine they will inevitably at some point be exposed to this virus. Some will die. Too bad our crack scientists at the CDC have not been able to analyze the data in an apolitical manner and define just what factors lead to susceptibility to severe Covid-19 infection.

It’s more dangerous to be required to wear masks, which result in oxygen depravation.

You ask too many questions. Next you'll want to know how many died. THEN you'll be asking if they really died from Wuhan Virus alone or was the cause of death something else and they only tested (or it was surmised) they were positive. Then you'll want to know about this mandatory mask edict. It never ends when you go down that slippery slope of digging for the truth.

Funny, but stick with “Man in Florida” as the reason.

It’s funny and sad how people attribute the DOW to things like COVID. People who know the markets know only weak hands play pop culture news.

Exactly. There has not been a jump in deaths. The Left and Globalists will do anything to bring down the economy for the short term for their long term goals. Making sure Trump is blamed and not reelected is just part of that.

Florida sees record jump in coronavirus cases

So stupid.

My husband and I RV within Florida on weekends, and on the way back home Monday we passed multiple testing sites, each of which had what looked like hundreds of cars, bumper-to-bumper, spilling onto the highways, lined up to be tested – as far as the eye could see.

It was SO WEIRD, did not look organic to me. I have seen these testing sites for months, and they're usually basically empty. Looked to me as if a bat signal went out to Democrats to go get tested.

Maybe they need to restart the daily task force pressers and start rubbing their noses in those stats.

Basically saying, when Trump loses, all of this will go away. But if he’s re-elected, be prepared for four more years of lockdowns.

Basically holding the country hostage.

Governor Desantis in FL and Governor Kemp in GA both acted early on to deploy resources to clean up nursing homes and assisted living facilities. This has made their number in this area look much better than NY and NJ. Not something you get watching the drive-bys.
