Seattle's CHOP Just Cost The City A Billion Dollar Company
PJ Media ^ | 06/23/2020 | Bryan Preston

Well, who didn’t see this coming?

Coronavirus pandemic or not, an investment advisory company is leaving the cultural unrest in Seattle and moving its headquarters to Phoenix’s Camelback Corridor.

” … The unrest that has taken place in the city of Seattle … there is really is not a downtown business community today,” Smead Capital Management, President and CEO Cole Smead told KTAR News 92.3 FM.

Mayor Jenny Durkan has allowed and encouraged an unelected mob to take over and militarize several blocks of downtown Seattle. A man has died because of this. A deaf woman was reportedly sexually assaulted because of this. About 30,000 Seattle residents are now subjected to CHOP’s mob rule and they live in fear of criticizing it. Media are controlled. It’s a segregationist enclave, albeit one that is dependent on the benevolence of the surrounding nation it despises.

CHOP cannot feed itself or power its connection to Reddit. But it can and has killed jobs.

Mayor Durkan is killing Seattle.

“We’re hearing rumors of 40-story buildings that will be only 20-percent occupied by October,” Smead said.

Some of that will be companies allowing employees to continue working at home. Some of that will be companies leaving, taking the taxes they and their employees pay wherever they go.

Probably a few billion. Liberal cities in for a reckoning, like they’ve never had one before.

Seattle is about $2.5 billion in debt. Portland is worse, at $4.5 billion.

Other than the people that are getting killed this is actually very very fun to watch

What we’re seeing in liberal enclaves in the United States is a kin to what happened in Venezuela

Socialist politicians come in to power promising everything for free and we’re so compassionate and the degenerates and the corruption lawlessness and all businesses leave

Fortunately these are just states under the jurisdiction of the federal government so they can really only go so far in places like New York and Seattle before the heavy hand of the federal government would come down and stop them in their socialist moves in power grabs

If the stupid Democrats are saying it all in these liberal cities they will realize that these people are idiots and vote them out

Keep voting for these rabid female libs and eventually there will be nothing left of the jurisdiction but burnt ruins. They belong in a mental institution, not in government of any size, shape or form.

The CHOP folks should just take over Smead Capital Management‘s headquarters, and prevent the, from leaving.

It’s really just that simple. I don’t know why those guys haven’t thought of it themselves.

Onward the Revolution!

We don’t need no stinkin’ businesses that pay stinkin’ bourgeois drones no stinkin’ payroll, we are the pure little snowflake children who virtue signal our way over the lemming edge of the stinkin’ civilization about to collapse.

The ironic part is that, by forcing everyone to close up and work from home, the liberal cities taught us that we no longer need to rent huge office spaces in liberal cities.

The real estate tax burden will shift away from buildings to houses and other abodes.

It's a high price to pay for electing a thug democrat for mayor: city taxes will go up, crime will skyrocket, property values will drop like a lead balloon... Enjoy your hellhole Seattle.

Of course. Based on what happened in 1968, I estimate these cities will now be set back 40 or 50 years. This time it will be even worse because the cities did not fight the rioters and have made it clear they intend not to protect businesses. Indeed, they intend to decrease police protection over all.

A Minneapolis manufacturing company, whose plant burned amid civil unrest following George Floyd’s death, is leaving the city after nearly four decades and taking dozens of jobs with it.

The president and owner of 7-Sigma Inc. Kris Wyrobek felt inclined to do so after he says he lost trust in public officials during the riots that plagued the city, according to Star Tribune.

“They don’t care about my business,” said Wyrobek told the Star Tribune. “They didn’t protect our people.
