Ruh-roh. No historical figure - or place - is safe from the Left’s anger. So the Left will say that Hale was a fellow traveler, an enabler. After all, Hale went to the college. Yet he did not burn it down in protest.
That’s why I suggest that all historical places just be identified by a randomly-assigned number. So “Go Yale! Beat Harvard!” would become “Go 34773790! Beat 86413482!”
See, now everybody’s happy.

You would think so. But then someone will bring up that Yale sits on what was once Indian land. So it must be named after a Native American. And on and on it will go.
That’s one thing most delicate Leftists just don’t get. Once the Revolution starts you never know who will be purged next.

Change the name of the teams to “Skippers” and rename their mascot “Gilligan”. I’m sure lots of their buildings and programs need to be renamed, too.

That’s close to a lynching. The word lynching triggers hysteria. Hale being the victim and white would confuse the cult members. Therefore, can’t use Hale.
Kwikset University sounds cheap. Master University — guess not. That leaves us with “Schlage University”. Except locks imply resistance to theft, which is apparently racist.

Jeremiah Dummer went to Harvard but was instrumental in raising money for the fledgling Yale College. He contributed and convinced Elihu Yale to make the contribution that gave Yale its name. To wit, Dummer University!
