No fans in the stadium...No national anthem...

I am for not playing national anthem at all before professional sporting events... I did not seriously thought about that issue before...But, now many athletes want to kneel during national anthem...

National anthem is not played before the professional soccer games in Europe...

I saw the Premier League soccer games on Saturday... British national anthem is not played before the game...Players and coaches kneeled...

I am sure that NBA and NFL players will still kneel even if national anthem is not being played...

I don't think there is a federal law requiring that national anthem be played before the games...

In international competitions, national anthem must be played...US national team members must stand for the anthem... There will be a World Cup qualifying game involving US and Mexico...In the near future... I want US players to stand up during the national anthem...

I want to make a distinction between professional sporting events versus international sporting events...

Yes, by all means: Let's try to be more like Europe!

I don't give a hoot about "professional sporting events." But the Leftists will view it as a victory if the National Anthem is no longer played.

I want to make a distinction between professional sporting events versus international sporting events...

Why? But if you must: Then how about holding up a big sign saying, "This is an international sporting event!" Wouldn't that be enough distinction?

Regards,

Baseball had been going on for 50 years before the national anthem situation came up in 1918. There was no policy for MLB until the 1941/1942 season.

I think the NFL mandated it around 1945.

I’d be in favor of that if they used a pretty girl like they do in boxing.

I’ll bet for example if the NFL didn’t have the National Anthem and fans were in the stands, that most of the crowd will just sing it out loud.

If it’s on US soil, I care.

IF this guy and his crew can’t respect the nation they should
find another venue, abroad.

I have not heard of a commissioner of any professional sport who came out against kneeling...Yet...

I guess the MLS Commissioner is afraid to fight with the players’ union on this issue...

Lots of folks predicted this. It will probably extend to other sports, too. When you think about it, playing the national anthem before sporting events is really just “virtue signaling” on a grand scale.

If we really want to be patriotic, let’s have Ford play the national anthem before the start of every shift at their pickup truck plant in Louisville, KY. :-P

No. The customer is always right. The fans were customers, and the entertainers and their bosses disrespected them.

Local sports and new, more patriotic leagues will be more worthy of our attention. We won’t accept the brainwashing attempts from the filthy, foreign coasts.

I didn’t even know that there was a “Major League Soccer” anywhere in our country.

The only reason there’s so many people playing soccer is because no one wants to watch it.

Statues coming down, anthem being removed, renaming everything... anyone who can’t see what is happening is a fool.

MLS league rule, teams are required to fly a rainbow flag at their stadiums!

I must correct myself. Appears that this policy was stopped last september when the league banned portland sounders fans from flying the antifa flag at home games. The league banned any flag that it considered to be inherently political and divisive among the general fanbase.

If the reason to not play the anthem is because there no spectators, shouldn’t that also be reason to not play the game?

That’s what LA Justice doesn’t get. This is war and that is another battle he’s retreating from.
