Philadelphia May Cut $33 Million from Police Funding

The Philadelphia City Council gave preliminary approval Wednesday to a fiscal year 2021 budget that would cut millions of dollars from police funding.

“The budget recommended for approval today by Council’s Committee of the Whole reduces funding for the Police Department by $33.3 million – which is $14 million more in reductions than Council and the mayor agreed upon last week,” the council’s website read.

Which will go somewhere, but not back to taxpayers.

Whole thing is a slush fund grab.

These inane virtue signaling moves may be illegal due to state’s constitutions. In many places money that comes from taxes can’t be shuffled around at will without the state Legislatures and Senate. May even have to go to the voters in referendums.

Why are all these cities cutting police budgets when it was just one cop in one city that was at fault? And he’s in jail.

What does that have to do with cops in NYC, Chicago, Philly or LA?
