The United States may be at a crucial point in the coronavirus pandemic, with cases rising again and officials deciding whether to stay the course on reopening. At least 19 states have seen new cases go up in the last two weeks and six states on Tuesday reported record increases, CBS News' Manuel Bojorquez reports.
Florida reported 2,783 new cases. Texas reported 2,622, and Arizona reported a one-day jump of 2,392 new cases. Oklahoma, Oregon and Nevada also reported their highest single-day spikes in cases yet.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis dismissed concerns Tuesday that reopenings are driving his state's record-breaking run. He said spikes there are due to increased testing, particularly in high-risk areas like nursing homes and farming communities.

All six listed states have had violent protests, including looting, rioting, and arson. Coincidence? I think not!
If they’re only providing new cases without corresponding information about hospitalizations and deaths, it’s not a news report.

Once that was cleared up the labs sent all the piled up results at one time. That is what created all the simultaneous spikes.
Each state also had a RECORD NUMBER of NEGATIVE and TOTAL tests on those dates.
The only stat that matters is the infection rate. If it is not rising or is declining then the spikes are an anomaly.
Here in my county we had large spikes a few days ago. Our Mayor and council panicked and proposed a mask ordinance.
Monday when the proposed it saw the lowest number of positives since April, yesterday when they THANKFULLY voted it down and instead went with a RESOLUTION asking businesses to require masks we had the lowest number of positives since late March.
And tell me how many empty hospital and ICU beds there are
Case numbers are going to go up as lockdowns end, that’s a given.. the lockdowns were never about lowering the overall case numbers, just time shifting when they occurred, so the system didn’t get overrun.

I don’t watch television, but my wife does. This morning, she had the news on and every time I walked by, for at least 10-15 minutes straight when I looked in passing, they had frowning talking heads, with a big red banner with white capital letters under it, something like “CORONAVIRUS CONCERNS FOR TRUMP RALLIES”

These MSM morons seem totally unaware that if you test more people there’s a good chance more people will test positive, and FL has been testing around 30K per week with less than 3% of the positives showing clinical symptoms it helps prove that herd immunity may be coming into play. In FL the Governor related yesterday that the largest increases were in the migrant worker segment, in some cases 60% or more of every 100 tests done on agricultural and construction migrant workers with no demonstrated clinical symptoms.
Just more Covid 19 fear porn from the MSM. They are a greater enemy to the country than ANY disease. Oh, actually they ARE the disease.
I think farming communities is code for illegals.
And why no mention of correctional facilities/jails? Those might be good for a lot of the increase.
Exactly. We’re testing more people, so more people are testing positive. No increase in hospitalizations or deaths, just increase in number of pos. cases.
We had a case here a couple months back. An elderly lady was admitted to one of the nursing homes with terminal cancer. Her condition deteriorated quickly, and she was transferred soon after to Hospice to die.
Sometime before she entered the nursing home, she was exposed to the Covid virus, and while she was in the nursing home, she tested positive for the virus.
She eventually died at hospice from her terminal cancer.
Cause of death was reported as: Covid-19 infection.
I don't know about Oregon but the other states listed have significant itinerant farm labor populations.
