Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms announced Saturday that police Chief Erika Shields is stepping aside and the city will launch a search for her replacement.
Bottoms said Shields offered her resignation, which the mayor accepted.
Bottoms also called for the termination of the police officer who shot Rayshard Brooks on Friday.
"I do not believe this was a justified use of deadly force and have called for the immediate termination of the officer," the mayor said, at a Saturday afternoon news conference.

Shields is a lesbian white woman. Maybe Bottoms can find a lesbian black woman, or maybe even a trans-sexual black, to fill the position. That would be a “historic decision”, which the leftists seem to think trumps every other consideration.

A policeman shot him last night as he was running away. He was passed out, presumably drunk or high, in a Wendy’s drive through lane and resisted arrest.
End of tour, let the riot begin.
Bottoms is on Biden’s VP shortlist. I expect she’s burnishing her black supremacy credentials so she can get record black turnout for Biden.
