There is an old adage among lawyers: “If the facts are on your side, pound the facts; if the law is on your side, pound the law; if you have neither the facts nor the law, pound the table.”
John Gleeson, the attorney and retired federal judge who was appointed by U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan to argue that federal prosecutors should not be permitted to dismiss their case against former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, is using a sledgehammer to pound paper.
On Wednesday, Gleeson filed a 72-page brief (an oxymoron, to be sure) that was stunningly feeble on both facts and law. To compensate for his anemic arguments, he tortures the reader with overwrought blather that bears little relevance to the main issue at hand.
Perhaps Gleeson was hoping the court would simply weigh his submission on a scale and award him the prize for mindless verbosity.
I don’t recommend reading the document. A root canal sans Novocain would be less painful. But the core of Gleeson’s argument can be found on Page 26, where he asserts – without a shred of credible evidence – that “prosecutors have offered pretextual reasons for dismissal,” and “there is clear evidence of gross prosecutorial abuse.”
Gleeson’s inane reasoning is that President Trump has tweeted about the Flynn case, so there must be corruption afoot. Gleeson offers no real proof, of course. But he offers enough innuendo and supposition to fill a dumpster.
Gleeson contends that the “decision to dismiss is based solely on the fact that Flynn is a political ally of Trump” (Page 38). In other words, guilt by association should be good enough to send Flynn to the hoosegow.

It doesn’t matter what the “brief” says. Flynn’s an old white guy, so he has to be guilty.
That’s the “new normal”.
Hell, they may even be using this time to destroy or hide damning documents and information.
The deep state is very heavily invested in keeping this case alive. Why?
Are they worried about what Flynn will say when he is finally clear of this case and gag orders? Does Flynn even have anything to say?
I believe that’s a good part if not all of the reason Sullivan is carrying on with this fiasco.
When dealing with corrupt or idiotic Democrat judges and politicians be ready for the long haul. They have no shame and don’t care how stupid or criminal they look. They will stubbornly hang on until pried off.
Doesn’t matter what Flynn might say. We at FR and a few other places will be the only ones to hear it.

I imagine he does. However, I am not sure he will say much or if he will just put DC in the rear view mirror.
The left plays for keeps and the rule of law is on the shakiest of ground now in our country. They employ every tactic - lies, riots, lawfare, rumor, innuendo, and any other tactic they can use to achieve their goal.
They want him silenced. It is easy for all of us to demand he fight, but we don’t know the toll this has taken on his wife and family. I would love to hear what he has to say and could easily see him writing a book either on his own or with Sidney Powell (you know she will write a book), but this has undoubtedly taken a toll on him.
I wish him well regardless of his choice. He did not deserve this and there is no doubt in my mind he was targeted by the Obama administration just as Dinesh D’Souza was when countless people have done far worse.
Think about it. We are one election away from a DOJ and other government agencies again targeting political enemies.
Trump was President, and the Dept of Injustice still targeted Republicans, Trump associates, Patriots, and Conservatives as political enemies (Flynn, Stone, Papadopoulos, and others).
Nothing changed.
The DOJ is infested with 97% Democrat/Communists.
What is amazing to me is that so many Freepers have completely bought into the media narrative on this case. They clearly get all their information from Broadcast news and/or the major newspapers. They must be infrequent visitors to this forum or anywhere else that include the facts on this issue.
Clearly the lies and antics of Judges Sullivan and Gleeson work. When amplified by the press and the Democrats, the American people fall for all of this. When the case is dismissed, they will scream about political influence and the dumbasses will swallow it hook, line, and sinker.

Flynn will not say a word until he is 100% home free and 100% off the hook. He may even come back in the Trump administration. Trump has made these gestures. You are correct that the scum of DC are trying to delay all the above for as long as possible. Preferably past the November elections.
