It could be very interesting to see who developes these
burned out areas. As I recall it was the Mayor and his
cronies who bought up properties after the 14th street
incident and then put up Colony Square.
Some beautiful Victorian style homes were on 14th street.
Oh, please. All you have to do is drive a semi-trailer full of food down the street and the citizens will eat like kings.
I think it was mostly ANTIFA - and the Justice Dept should threaten them with Hate Crimes
I lived in what is now the riot zone in Minneapolis for 25 years and left 19 years ago. The only grocery store still in that area was Cub and the biggest store was Target. Both were looted. Last I heard Target said they weren’t going to reopen that store, and Cub hasn’t said anything yet. Cub itself was damaged, but not burned, so they might reopen. If they don’t the people in that neighborhood will have to travel several miles to find a grocery store. Most of the rioters came from mostly black neighborhoods farther west on Lake St.

14th Street got bought up over decades, but was probably 25 years before real improvement happened. Let the gentrification begin ... (long term investment)
Little or no insurance payouts, these businesses will not reopen or ever come back. Those that try will be on their own with no insurance or support.

Wow, this is awful. I guess these city residents are just going to have to vote harder and more often for the next batch of communists. You know, the ones who will finally “do it right” after the last 50+ years of failure.
Let me get this straight: burn down the grocery store and drug store, steal everything in sight in “protest”. Wake up hungry or sick and wonder why there is no food or medicine. Ignorance should be painful. Stupidity should be fatal.

I live in north Minneapolis and there is another corridor similar to Lake street called West Broadway.
I drove it last Saturday morning, I started to cry. They burned and destroyed everything.
It won’t be rebuilt in my lifetime.
BLM just *hates* McDonald’s.
