If they don’t learn how and when to use them what good are they?

Most if not all big city police forces are run by the marx-o-crats. They are not there to protect honest citizens anymore.
And if the vids of soldiers kneeling to the panty-fa mother-effers are true, 2021 will see a dictatorship of the proletariot.

I’ve never had a gun but am considering buying one, but prices are high right now, aren’t they?

What would you buy for use in home defense?

I’ve never not been a gun owner. Was given my first AR at 13 years old, a .22 revolver a couple years later and on my 18th birthday I registered republican and bought an AK47. Bought several dozen more firearms since then. Couldn’t imagine being unarmed. It’s a totally foreign concept to me

I like amateurs with guns. They have a machine they do not know how to operate, that they do not lap in. (Any semi-auto need 200 rounds through it to be reliable.) They do not have the muscle memory of years. The automatic ability to roll the stock into the hollow of your shoulder, and the feel of the trigger just before it breaks.

They've seen a lot of TV, so they "know". If they weren't Democrats, I feel sorry for them. They are going to be slaughtered.

Many of those gun owners are also blm, antifa members and other assorted communists.

```````````````````````````````````
exactly! right has been well armed for a long time... what we’re mostly watching here is the left arming up.
I know the “polls” all say Biden is in the lead BUT These first time buyers are NOT Biden voters. Biden voters do not buy weapons. These are 2 million new Trump voters.
Don’t assume the new gun buyers are right thinking, patriotic citizens.
Remrmber when the guy shot and killed people at a outside shopping district with bars? It was the same day as the el paso shooting but in the eveing I forget the city.
That perp who was killed by police was a member of antifa. I looked at some of the links because he belonged to a antifa type of gun club.
There were further links of black militias that showed them training with guns and all it was disturbing to me. I wish I had kept the links to them. It is not just white people arming up. Want to be thugs who don’t have a record yet are buying them legally but for other nefarious purposes.
yes... I do recall. It was in Ohio... maybe Cinci or Dayton?
Antifa = communist shock troops. They have thousands carrying out ops every day right now. Our cops and military do nothing.
Same thoughts here.
Amateurs with firearms are very dangerous.
Hope they seek out training.
At the range I use it was packed last Saturday. This is a range out in the sticks and we usually go early on Saturday (8:00 AM) because we usually have the range to ourselves all morning and get to call our own red and green lights. Saturday there were 60 people there by 9:00. I must have shown 20 people how to sight in their new rifles and optics.
“I can register the Ruger GP-100 I bought and more coming.”
You got a fine firearm. I own a bunch of handguns and the GP-100 is easily my favorite to shoot. Having a gunsmith lighten the spring on the trigger is well worth the investment - it only cost me 40 bucks to get a trigger job.
Go with what you are comfortable with and ask a salesman at a reputable gun dealer. Pump shotguns are a good choice.
I have a Taurus Judge loaded with #6 birdshot.
Also, whatever you go with, practice a lot with it. Get to know it and develop muscle memory.
“Amateurs with firearms are very dangerous. Hope they seek out training.”
And it doesn’t take a lot of training. Last month my 13 year old nephew went shooting with us and had never shot a gun before. After giving my standard 20 minute gun safety lecture (nobody gets to shoot my guns without first getting “the lecture”, no matter how experienced they are. It’s my rule) he was shooting an AR-15 inside the circles Every time at 100 yards by the end of the morning. He had a blast and is now saving for his own rifle - I got us another convert.
I live in the Netherlands, guns here are a different thing then in the USA. We can only shoot guns for sports (or hunters can too) so people here got more sport type guns. So not a lot of concealed guns over here and action shooting/IPSC is not too common too. Loads of people shoot .22 because for the competitions.
I bought a Ruger GP-100 .357 revolver with 6 inch barrel but like I said it’s for sports usage and I will hand load ammo for that purpose (it also shoots .38 wad cutters and that is really good for cardboard shooting). But it will be mostly used single action.
Will buy a 9mm (HK P-30L, CZ Phantom or Walther PPQ), a .45 (HK45) and AR-15 (maybe a HK416) too next year to do IPSC. Prices are really low over here for used weapons because the number of shooters went from 60k to 40k so there is a lot of used weapons out there no one will buy (also we can only own a maximum of 5 guns). But AR-15’s and such are really, really expensive. SIG MPX is 1800 dollars, here it’s 2800 euro!
As for what I would advice for home defense, well stuff like Glock, you almost cannot go wrong there. They are cheap and really reliable and lots of add-ons and cheap magazines. I am more of a HK guy, loved the USP because of the nice recoil and it’s built like a tank. Check out the HK VP-9 but it’s a little more expensive but has a really good trigger and is like a Glock to use but is even more ergonomic and can be used left-handed out of the box. Smith & Wesson M&P or Walther (PPQ has a great trigger but is expensive) have similar firearms. Also check out CZ, they have some awesome guns and over here lots of people use them. Walther and HK have different magazine drop levers so that could be something to think about. VP-9 is also sold with push button though.
But what is most important is what really fits your hand. SIG P226 are really to big for me for instance and the HK P-30l and VP-9 can be customized out of the box to fit most hands. So don’t buy something just because it’s said to be good, hold it and ask to test it if possible. The fit and handling are so important.
