We will never get out of this now. It will go on for ever. We will not be free people again.
Even when we seem to be free we will be like prisoners on parole, who can be snatched back to their cells at a moment's notice.
I think I now understand why this period has come to be known by the repulsive word 'lockdown', an American term which describes the punishment of rioting convicts in a penitentiary, by confining them to their cells for long periods.
I hate this word, because it does not seem to be to be fitting to describe free people in a free country.
But we are no longer such people, or such a country. We have become muzzled, mouthless, voiceless, humiliated, regimented prisoners, shuffling about at the command of others, stopping when told to stop, moving when told to move, shouted at by jacks-in-office against whom we have no appeal.
We are learning, during this induction period, to do what we are told and to become obedient, servile citizens of a new authoritiarian State. We are unlearing the old rules of freedom.
All the things we used to take for granted now belong to the State, which can hand them back to us if we are good, and yank them away from us again if we are bad, or if it can think of an excuse.
And there will always be an excuse, a rise in the fictional "R" rate, an 'emergency' that can be exaggerated into fear, whether it be a virus, a terror threat or even the new Middle Eastern war that I have long feared....
But who would have thought it would be Covid-19, of all things, that would be the pretext for the snuffing out of centuries of liberty?....

That sums it up. Bleak article but it’s hard to see any way out of this now that they’ve got us where they want us.
They can’t....and that’s exactly why they’re shutting down voices questioning this, taking down information about demonstrations, etc. They’re going to do their best to make sure all of us never get a chance to get together and resist. Isolate and conquer is their motto. Just like Communist China.
I can envision that in the USA but the UK is so far down the road and to think our government will embrace theirs as an “ally” and our President praises their Prime Minister who’s been bucking for “Big Brother” lately.
Its so absurd to be angry with what China does in Hong Kong today when its being done in Germany, France and other places this weekend to put down demonstrations.
We “agreed” to this because we did not know the severity of something like a “pandemic”. Little did we realize that the hysteria fear the media used and the eventual dictatorial nazi tactics rat mayors and governors used to disable our liberties and constitutional rights as Americans was a welcome if not pre planned event, the pre planned is still out for discussion. This blind allegiance will not happen again and the mention of another lock down will be met with force
We should have known right off the bat when Fauci praised the Chinese “response” to the virus. And then we let him implement it here.
Of course, how he got to be President Fauci in the first place I will never understand.
What do we expect when the “schools” have NOT taught the Constitution and the amazing accomplishments of the Founding Fathers for many many many years. And labeling conservatives as “right wing” is a total smear. Conservative support the U.S. Constitution which is (still) the foundation of all that we cherish. Therefore conservatives are Centrists, NOT RIGHT WING! We need to start using the correct, non-perjorative nomenclature. Words mean something and letting the left-wing idiots control the conversation dooms us (and, ultimately them) to destruction.
Can we stop using lockdown and call this by it’s proper name? Fauci-ism?
Fauci-ism - the ability to start a crisis using false information and convincing millions of people it is true.
