Skip to comments. The new authoritarian State's dream has come true thanks to the repulsive word "lockdown"......

We will never get out of this now. It will go on for ever. We will not be free people again.
Even when we seem to be free we will be like prisoners on parole, who can be snatched back to their cells at a moment's notice.
I think I now understand why this period has come to be known by the repulsive word 'lockdown', an American term which describes the punishment of rioting convicts in a penitentiary, by confining them to their cells for long periods.
I hate this word, because it does not seem to be to be fitting to describe free people in a free country.
But we are no longer such people, or such a country. We have become muzzled, mouthless, voiceless, humiliated, regimented prisoners, shuffling about at the command of others, stopping when told to stop, moving when told to move, shouted at by jacks-in-office against whom we have no appeal.
We are learning, during this induction period, to do what we are told and to become obedient, servile citizens of a new authoritiarian State. We are unlearing the old rules of freedom.
All the things we used to take for granted now belong to the State, which can hand them back to us if we are good, and yank them away from us again if we are bad, or if it can think of an excuse.
And there will always be an excuse, a rise in the fictional "R" rate, an 'emergency' that can be exaggerated into fear, whether it be a virus, a terror threat or even the new Middle Eastern war that I have long feared....
But who would have thought it would be Covid-19, of all things, that would be the pretext for the snuffing out of centuries of liberty?....

Try this and see how it feels:
I will not comply.
They cant stop all of us.
That sums it up. Bleak article but its hard to see any way out of this now that theyve got us where they want us.
They cant....and thats exactly why theyre shutting down voices questioning this, taking down information about demonstrations, etc. Theyre going to do their best to make sure all of us never get a chance to get together and resist. Isolate and conquer is their motto. Just like Communist China.
I can envision that in the USA but the UK is so far down the road and to think our government will embrace theirs as an “ally” and our President praises their Prime Minister who’s been bucking for “Big Brother” lately.
Its so absurd to be angry with what China does in Hong Kong today when its being done in Germany, France and other places this weekend to put down demonstrations.
We “agreed” to this because we did not know the severity of something like a “pandemic”. Little did we realize that the hysteria fear the media used and the eventual dictatorial nazi tactics rat mayors and governors used to disable our liberties and constitutional rights as Americans was a welcome if not pre planned event, the pre planned is still out for discussion. This blind allegiance will not happen again and the mention of another lock down will be met with force
We should have known right off the bat when Fauci praised the Chinese response to the virus. And then we let him implement it here.
Of course, how he got to be President Fauci in the first place I will never understand.
What do we expect when the “schools” have NOT taught the Constitution and the amazing accomplishments of the Founding Fathers for many many many years. And labeling conservatives as “right wing” is a total smear. Conservative support the U.S. Constitution which is (still) the foundation of all that we cherish. Therefore conservatives are Centrists, NOT RIGHT WING! We need to start using the correct, non-perjorative nomenclature. Words mean something and letting the left-wing idiots control the conversation dooms us (and, ultimately them) to destruction.
Can we stop using lockdown and call this by it’s proper name? Fauci-ism?
Fauci-ism - the ability to start a crisis using false information and convincing millions of people it is true.
Hitchens ends with a short piece on e-scooters:
“Those cities which have allowed e-scooters have bitterly regretted it, as their pavements have become as dangerous as the roads themselves.
Yet the excuse of the new normal or recovery from the virus crisis or protecting the NHS will in the next few months be repeatedly used in a hundred such bad causes, from a Stalinist raid on savings etc...
(final line) And people will fall for it, as they have fallen for the whole phoney crisis.”
in his main text, he writes:
“In many cases, bodies supposed to stand up for us now lecture and browbeat us on behalf of the Government”
none more so than the FakeNewsMSM, which is obsessive in its support for never-ending lockdowns, while they are considered “essential”!

03:35 Demonstrations against coronavirus restrictions are once again expected to take place in several German cities this weekend, with protests announced in Berlin, Stuttgart, Munich, Frankfurt, and Hanover.
The demonstration in Stuttgart is forecast to be smaller than the one last weekend that drew 5,000 people. In Cologne, some 500 people plan to make a human chain. In Bavaria, 60 separate protests are expected.
Last weekend, thousands gathered in cities around Germany to protest restrictions on public life put in place to slow the spread of the coronavirus. Many argue that the restrictions violate rights guaranteed by Germanys constitution.

24 May: Russia Today: Police in Hamburg use WATER CANNONS to disperse demonstrators against anti-lockdown protest (VIDEO, PHOTOS)
The anti-lockdown gathering was greenlit to go ahead after organizers agreed to cap the number of its participants at 750 instead of some 3,500-4,000, as originally requested.
Less than 20 minutes after the meeting officially kicked off, at about 3:17 p.m. local time, the maximum allowed number of participants had already arrived, police said, noting that it had to block more people from coming...
One of the speakers at the rally argued that more people have died due to planned surgeries being postponed than from the virus itself...
The welfare of humanity is always the alibi of tyrants. - Albert Camus
Massive resistance is the term and about time it comes back. This time the cause is freedom and personal responsibility in America. Good cause.
So many are weak sheep...so many.
Mr Hitchens is certainly a gloomy gus.
He needs a little American optimism.
Great quote. Very appropriate now.
Would make a great tagline.
So many are weak sheep...so many.
Sheep will follow a leader.
Maybe you could try being one.
