They always underestimate us. First it was King George III, then it was Kaiser Wilhelm. Then came the fascists of Japan, followed quickly by Adolf Hitler. Then came Stalin, followed by a succession of Russian communists. Now it's the chairman of the Communist Party of China, Xi Jinping.
Our 40th President, Ronald Reagan, promised to dump the Russian communists on the ash heap of history and proceeded to do just that. We will do the same to the Chinese communists, and we will do it as a united nation, with all partisanship set aside. The American people demand nothing less.
We've finally found something Speaker Pelosi and President Trump agree on. With their crackdown on the brave people of Hong Kong, the communists have crossed their red line. If exporting the Wuhan virus wasn't enough, this brutal betrayal of the people of Hong Kong demonstrates beyond doubt that the Chinese communists are just like all the communists all over the world. They are reckless, indifferent to human life and suffering, and hungry for world power. They will stop at nothing — unless they are stopped.
Our policy with China must be nothing less than regime change. We want the people of China to overthrow the Communist Party and replace it with a new government of their choosing. Hopefully, it will be democratic, but that's up to them.
We will not go to war with the Chinese communists, just as we didn't have a shooting war with the Russian communists. It won't be necessary to put boots on the ground. There will be no military conflict unless they choose to somehow confront the United States Navy in the South China Sea. But they can't be that foolish, can they?

Better if the Chinese do it. If the people replace this evil regime with a good, democratic leader ( like Sun Yat Sen ), then maybe, China can be trusted once again but not until.
We have too many high up in government and business who are sold out to the Chicoms, lock, stock, and barrel. Until we are rid of these in the most harsh manner possible, we cannot hope to deal with this enemy with any success.

The Pearl River Delta (or PRD) is in the Southern and prosperous Guangdong province of China. It is a bustling region with massive manufacturing and trade. Economically and linguistically, the Special Administrative. The high tech city of Shenzen ( where the telecom tech giant, Huawei has its HQ, is in the PRD ).
Regions of Hong Kong and Macau — located on opposite sides of the mouth of the Pearl — are very much part of the PRD.
My post was meant to say that, the American people need to overthrow OUR Communist government. i.e. democRAT party.
So then it’s got nothing to do with naval battles I assume :)

Yes,that’s the idea. But China has many other options for her Belt and road initiative — she can deal with the socialistic regimes of South America, Africa and some Middle Eastern Countries.
The EU has (most probably) learned her lessons the hard way.
Asia? I am not so sure. Pakistan, Cambodia and Laos will probably still want to do business with China.
In a very lengthy article Forbes a few years back described the Pearl River Delta as the fastest growing population and economic center on earth. It is in china and is territory north of Macau and Hong Kong which are located on both sides of the Pearl River.

The area has grown by tens of millions of people and has asI recall the 13th largest Gross Domestic Product in the world. It is populated by mostly young upwardly mobile people that enjoy prosperity and relative freedom never before experienced in China.
I think the same can be said of Shanghai which is China’s most populous city. It is not the way things were. It is architecturally up to date and the population is just different. They have the stuff we have. They apparently have pretty good lives. Better, much better than under real communism of the past.
What do they want? I will argue we don’t know.

That bottom picture was once supposed to be the execution of petty criminals and prostitutes. Its very old doing back the the 90s. There are also 2 more shots of the same execution and one of the whole scene where there are dozens of executions taking place, just finishing or waiting along the wall.
China has many modern cities but many of them were built on spec and on one lives in them
