Edited on 05/21/2020 9:36:07 AM PDT by Jim Robinson. [history]

Red- and blue-state America was already divided before the coronavirus epidemic hit. Globalization had enriched the East Coast and West Coast corridors but hollowed out much in between.

The traditional values of small towns and rural counties were increasingly at odds with postmodern lifestyles in the cities.

"Wow,this division is back!"

One could argue the philosophical division in American thought has always existed but has been exacerbated recently by technology.

Some months ago I sat in on a presentation by an HR consultant at a business owners’ meeting. He made the astute point that American Party divisions are decades out of date — and really haven’t made sense since the end of our post-WW2 Industrial Age in the 1970s.

Democrats = Progressives = Communists

Call it what it is. These democrat scumbag pukes are all made of the same cloth that exterminated the Czar and his children. These Bolsheviks have it coming to them, in spades.

I will be ready for them when the time comes. spit.

Let the full war come.
Please.
Libs are in cities.
Cities without their own water supplies, power generation, and well, practically everything.
I will enjoy watching.
As for D.C., surround them, starve them.
Completely.

Burn the bodies afterwards.

The problem is that those blue progs in big cities move to suburbs and open areas and infest same with their politics. They took over my county, lots of pink hats got elected and some of them have already exposed themselves for the vindictive Karens they are. And it will get worse in my county before it gets. better....

Okay, so forgive me for asking what his point was... Are we supposed to all think the same with regard to everything around us? No more consideration of welfare, immigration, and social issues? Should everyone go globalist? The guy sounds a bit like he’s given up on society.

But then you said he’s an HR type, and in my long experience HR professionals can be either very wishy-washy or cast iron convinced they know everything.

Still curious.

I second that. These aren’t our countrymen. They’re scum commies who aim to bury us. Act accordingly.

Ever since the Jews demanded a king instead of letting God rule over them, the problem of government run by men is a permanent one. No matter how it starts out, it will end up corrupt. We are beyond corrupt in all walks of life in the United States. The government is totally corrupt, from local to state to national levels. Companies are becoming completely corrupt. Instead of excellence and quality being the goals, it is becoming political, who is connected, who is sleeping with whom, who is paying whom off, etc., ad nauseum.

The problem is not financial bankruptcy, but rather a spiritual bankruptcy. Turn back to God and seek Him. Otherwise, the hand will appear and write on the wall again...

The focus of the presentation was on the changing nature of the modern work force. Basically, the old model of getting an education through childhood into young adulthood and then working at the same place -- or even in the same career -- is a thing of the past.

One of the results of this change is that education systems will have to be completely revolutionized to deal with this reality.

I want the divide to widen and never want to hear bipartisan ideas or schemes to ever again emanate from Congress.

I’ve noticed that recently, Hanson is doing more straight current sociology, rather than his much more informative historical dives and comparisons.
That is a shame because this column is pablum, absolute mush.

The “blue” states are out to rape and pillage the “red” states and they are winning. It is just a matter of time and demographics. Those that do leave bring their pestilence with them.

Republican governors, with only a few exceptions, like most republican congress bums, are a joke. One democrat woman governor can easily kick all of their collective asses. You can hate the dems as much as you want, label them, identify their political infections, but you have to admit they don’t give a damn. They will cut you, smile and shoot you in the head for kicks. Doesn't bother them at all. They believe in their righteousness as they see it and that makes them dangerous and successful.

When you have people like Hanson going squish you got trouble in River City.

Somebody on here showed a theory of how the world works in 80 year cycles. I see it right now here in America

- 1780-81: Frustrated by the stalemate up north, the British invade the South, hoping to band the loyalists together and fight the Patriots. By October 1781, their dreams lay shattered at Yorktown, and The United States of America eventually became recognized as a sovereign nation.

- 1860-61: At the beginning of 1860, the only folks talking secession were a few fireeaters in South Carolina. By the end of 1861, the US was in the bloodiest war in its history.

- 1940-41: At the beginning of 1940, the US was firmly isolationist. With Britain and France holding up against Germany and the Soviet Union, we didn't see the need to get into European business. In Asia, the Japanese were overrunning China but it was thousands of miles away. By the end of 1941, we were fully in a World War that shapes this world to this day.

- 2020-2021: At the beginning of 2020, President Trump had the most powerful economy in American history. However, after the Communist Chinese spread the Chicom Virus around the world, and with the connivance of Globalists from both parties, our economy was artificially shut down. We normal people are taking the brunt of what a bunch of elitists a-holes wanting to punish America for voting for Trump in 2016. When Election Day 2020 runs around, I predict the Democrats will be in full meltdown mode, and some of their more violent folks will gang up on 14 year old boys and 80 year old women wearing MAGA hats and murder them, then get off from Clinton, Bush, and Obama judges saying they were "triggered".

I'm hoping my thinking is the rantings of a lunatic. However, I believe we're in a pre-war environment. The Left doesn't want to hear arguments, they just want to shut people down.
