Florida Sen. Marco Rubio will temporarily become chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Republican leaders announced, taking charge of the panel at a time of turnover and tension in the nations intelligence community.
Rubio will replace North Carolina Sen. Richard Burr, who said last week that he would step aside after federal agents examining his recent stock sales showed up at his home with a warrant to search his cellphone. Friday was Burrs last day in the position.
Along with House and Senate leaders and the top Democrat and Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, Rubio will now have access to some of the highest-level secrets in Congress as part of a small Gang of Eight that receives the most sensitive information. A former Republican presidential candidate who eventually endorsed Donald Trump in 2016, he has also worked with Democrats on the panel on its investigation into Russian election interference and other matters. Rubios promotion comes amid repeated tension between the White House and the intelligence community.

I don’t see this as much of an improvement.
Great..backstabber Marco Roboto..
Great. From the frying pan into the fire.
Weird. On radio news they said it was Cruz.
Do NOT trust Rubio.
The Senate Intelligence Committee is deeply corrupt. The Rubio appointment will insure it stays that way.
Senate Intelligence. Thats an oxymoron
Nope. Not an improvement, at all.
My vote was for Sen Cotton.
Midge protecting the swamp :-(
The Intelligence Committee was supportive of the Mueller investigation, right? Burr, Rubio and the rest of them, GOP as well as Dems, right?
Agree with your thoughts, but honestly, didn’t expect much so I’m not disappointed. Hopefully, there are other avenues to get the truth out and we will have to hope for those methods to prevail. However, you would have to think that at some point, the committee and the Senate as a whole would be embarrassed at how brazenly they condone the corruption. Trump has been easy on them because he has no choice. He needs their cooperation on so many other issues, he can’t burn his bridges with the Senate.
Another Never Trumper Rino. Not surprised.
Agree, it's a wash swapping out Burr for Rubio is same-old, same-old.
That committee has long sidelined itself anyway, due to the large number of members on the take, and Trump has been able to get around them for four years already.
Micro Amnestio Rubio is Mitch’s pick, not a surprise.

Bwa ha ha ha ha...

He would have been the best one. Sadly, he lacked the needed seniority.
OMG!! He is a CHILD/MAN who does not hve the experience or balls to do this job!
Bubbles Rubio...why in the world do we let lightweights hold these positions.
