11 May: Fox6: Carnival cruise bookings soar despite coronavirus, travel company says
A representative from the American Express travel franchise Cruise Planners told the tabloid that cruise bookings increased exponentially after Carnival announced it intends to resume some cruises in August.
Three days after the announcement, the travel company’s Carnival bookings went up by 600 percent when compared to the three days before the news broke. This current vacation frenzy is notably 200 percent higher than the bookings Cruise Planners received during the same period last year...
The company told TMZ that most of the clientele that’s calling in right now can be characterized as young, healthy and eager to travel after being cooped up from the nationwide coronavirus quarantines.
In other words, the company stated these customers are “not a bit concerned about traveling at this time.”
Carnival is aiming to hit the high seas by August, but there are no guarantees. The current pandemic could always delay sailing again...

Bureaucrats are naturally timid. No one will fault him if he maintains the "no reopen" policy. Opening potentially means more people get Covid19. If that happens (over his judgement), he can fall back on his assessment. He doesn't gain by advocating opening the economy.

Its really easy to second guess someone three months after the fact. It is not so easy to say they anyone else would have made a different decision, with the same information, under the same circumstances. Its embarrassing to watch the right attack Dr. Fauci using the same dirty tricks we despise when the MSM uses them on the President.
