Not really. At the outbreak, very few people were wearing masks ( mainly because the government was lying to the population ). When they finally ordered people to wear masks, there were many people that ignored it.

I know if you wear a mask you are doing nothing but concentrating the contamination on that mask, which become a gross and disgusting viral pit.

How? Those silly masks don’t contain your breath vapor. They’re not magic.
That's why they tell people to wash hands before and after and remove it from the ear straps and not touch it.
And you saw that explanation being drilled. Into you so many times you now believe it.
Watch enough more recent explanations and you will start believing the reason to wear a mask is because it is a reminder NOT to touch your face.

No. He is correct. Wearing a mask prevents a healthy person getting fresh air.
The point of getting outside and going to the beach is to get fresh air. Seeing people outside wearing masks is silly and goofy. I see some people where masks while driving a car. Doh! Just open the window.
Well of course people don’t need to wear masks at the beach or other outdoor areas. But masks make sense at the supermarket, where the purpose of the masks is to prevent the infected from spraying their virus all over everything.
Really, people, this is not rocket science.
#2. If you saw the picture of Rep. Maxine Waters wearing a mask upside down, you’d understand what the SG is talking about. However, in her case, I want her to wear it on her ass so that she does get the virus. Then it would cause a lot of brain damage and America would become a winner again.

I wish our idiot governor (Inslee, WA) would put his stupid press conferences to good use and have some experts show how to don and doff a mask. Or at least direct them to a youtube video.
I saw one guy the other day with an N95 on sideways. Had the straps around each ear like a surgical mask is worn!
Others will have both straps above or both below the ears. Or one strap just above the ear and the other just below the ear. Or just using one strap (Hey - this mask comes with a spare!) And these are folks that are concerned about their health I guess. But I’m not about to tell some stranger how to wear their mask properly!
Both good questions. Mostly, as the droplets evaporate, they stay airborne longer and eventually stick to something (you or another surface). Drying out completely will often kill the virus. If you reuse a mask that cannot be washed, it may start out contaminated or you might leave it sitting around long enough that the virus is destroyed. I leave mine in the sunlight for a week before reusing.
This is old news. Adam’s has already flip-flopped on this. Humiliatingly so at a certain presser.
According to the instructions for surgical masks that meet Part 84 approval requirements, the masks are suppose to be kept out of direct sunlight until use..

I don’t know why so many are so belligerent and resistant to wearing a mask. Perhaps because they are being told they “have” to, and resent being told what to do?
While I believe some governors have overstepped their authority, I don’t think wearing masks in areas where the spread is likely to be some great infringement to the constitution that requires CW2.
I believe in “doing unto others...” and if I assume I am a non-symptomatic carrier and others are not, I will wear a mask to prevent the spread.

Yes. They also are not supposed to be reused. Sunlight will degrade the elastic. I don’t care. Sunlight kills viruses, and I like that. I’m not a surgeon or even working with infected people, just a humble retired statistician. I’ll keep putting them in sunlight before reuse.

Illinois required masks or face coverings in stores May 1. I was able to buy 3 surgical masks at a local drug store for $2 apiece to use until my Amazon order arrived at about half the cost. I am too cheap to throw the mask out after a single use.
Rotate between your three masks. They recommend 3 to 4 days of air drying and any virus on the mask will be destroyed. I’m guessing after a day or two is okay. But I wait three days if I can.
Or - place on a wooden board or hang by a wood clothespin in your oven. They recommend 200 degrees for 30 minutes. I think 170 degrees for 15 minutes is okay.
