Flattening the curve = drag this on until the election is over

Drag this on until the country is over.

Masks are for placebo effects only. They remind people to stay the heck apart from each other.

I see people constantly fiddling with their masks. Hands to mask, to face, to item on grocery shelf.

Religion and country are crucial. The WWII Generation had something to believe in, for which to make sacrifices.

Today’s youth? Who knows what the heck they believe in. Hope and change won’t cut it.

Not just that, they have to take off the mask every time they pick up their iPhone, otherwise Face ID won’t unlock the phone.

I agree completely. But this board is made of mostly 60 and 70 somethings with some 50 something year olds like me thrown in.

Too many of those are terrified and not acting at all like they should be.

Perhaps they’re real last very tough generation wass the ones born in the teens and twenties of the 20th century.

Popeyes life has gotten so easy for all of us that many just got soft.

I am not remotely as tough as my father. He was born in 1920. he had me late

Well it doesn't work for me. I am in my mid sixties. I work full time and am quite healthy and active. If your scared...then stay home. The decision is mine to make.

Masks are largely nothing but virtue-signaling. They help if you feel ill and are going to cough or sneeze (somewhat block the trajectory of your stuff). They help keep you from inhaling droplets from a nearby sneezer or cougher. But, by and large, they don’t do a lot of good.

Tweet from Surgeon General:

U.S. Surgeon General

@Surgeon_General
Seriously people- STOP BUYING MASKS!

They are NOT effective in preventing general public from catching #Coronavirus, but if healthcare providers can’t get them to care for sick patients, it puts them and our communities at risk! http://bit.ly/37Ay6Cm

Nobody thinks that I'm aware of. And they don't have to be N95 either. But if everyone wears one here's what happens:

A flattened curve by design doesn’t squash. It extends the time the virus has to work through a population and very gradually tails off the way it was flattened to begin with.

This was brought to my attention: If having survived a case of Covid-19 doesn’t grant you immunity for wave two, (i.e., “you can catch it again”) as some fear, why would a vaccine for it work?

My God how many errors in that post! when I get tired I should really really proofread :-)

I’m not even close to as tough as my father was. Maybe three divisions below :-)

I didn’t have him for a long time. He died when I was 14 but 14 years was enough to see what a real should be like.

I miss the mark in many categories. Not sure why. Well this was an off-topic post LOL

As is the decision I make because of my nonagenarian mother.

It does change the calculus a bit...
