Cool! There’s one other Freeper near us both on Rte. 322/Chichester area. We used to tube the Brandywine from the Wyeth Museum down to Delaware when I was a teenager.
Rt 322 is under major construction.
Its going to be 2 lanes each way finally.
I take Creek Road to Wilmington often.
I am just now seeing your post. One day later.
What a beautiful painting! The drawing the draftmanship is half the battle. Even the bricks are properly laid in place.
The child is completely in proportion.
His satin, laced dressing gown reflects the mid day sun.
From the child’s point of view. Not as seen from above like most adults see toddlers. I suspect the artist is the father of this child. He has taken time to provide all the data.
Very lovely. Thanks. I’ve not seen this piece before.
For me this painting by Eakins captures
the ABSOLUTE CONCENTRATION that a young child is capable of,
far greater than the ability to conentrate attention at any other stage of life.
A bit disrespectful yea , but still funny.
