Cannot read the article. Loved the Wyeths. Glad she is at peace now.

Her granddaughter did a wonderful tribute. I hope you can view this.It is indeed wonderful! I hope other freepers will view it, too. (I have also seen Bo Barlett's film about Wyeth, referenced in the article linked above. It was part of a touring show of his work in 1996 or so.) Here is a wonderful photo from the film you posted

Very interesting! Thank you. I only had a survey type class in my first year in college, but I have a knowledge of art that most of my friends dont have. Love the art world.

You can really see his genius in his quick sketches too. He could edit out the white noise of any scene and get immediately to what mattered. Truly an American treasure!

Yeah, there’s a fascinating story behind the painting, and Wyeth’s relationship with her. It lends even greater dimension to the artwork itself.

Ah well, considering that most of us are stuck in the house with little to do, I expect a little crankiness.

N.C. Wyeth, Andrew’s father, is one of my favorite illustrators ever, just brilliant.

The Wyeth family live in my area and Ive met some older folks that were close friends of Andrew Wyeth. Mrs Wyeths passing makes their stories seem now, more distant in the past.

Me either, I have kept working throughout the shutdown as I’m considered an “essential” employee. I work in a retirement home and have private clients, none of whom have gotten sick, thank God.

thanks for posting that- just love his work- another of my favorite ones- really liked how he portrayed light- the sky outside there has a very slight lavender/pink glow to it- with just a hint of yellow in it- the color mix beautifully- to give it a special warmish glow- you can almost sense Christina soaking in the warmth with a nice warm breeze there too- (It’s 35 here right now- ugggh- )
