DALLAS - A Dallas salon owner is now open for business, despite a county order that says her non-essential business must stay closed.
Shelley Luther, owner of Salon a La Mode, says shes had enough and is willing to go to jail over the debate if it were to ever come down to that. With Luther's business being open for business, it also meant she also opened it up to local officials, who she said delivered a citation, along with a cease and desist letter for going against the countys order that prohibits her non-essential business from reopening.
Im not closing, she said. Because all of the small business owners need to have some sort of voice, and we need to stand up for whats right or well continue to get our freedom taken away.
The salon owner says she missed a mortgage payment on her home and has 19 employees who need to work.

Jenkins was such an a**hole during the Ebola fiasco in Dallas that its amazing he made it through that debacle. He must know something about someone important.
I agree. And I love Abbott. He has been MOST disappointing with this.

Good for her.
Betcha she does a land office business.
A goose stepping police SWAT raid on a hair salon would be very poor optics.
People are starving they have NO MONEY what the hell do these legislators expect, there are millions filing for unemployment they cant wait they have to work PERIOD!!
Good for her. Speaking of salons, where are all of these social distancing, stay at home politicians getting their hair cut/colored?
salon or saloon?
Flobee!
I agree. I’m very disappointed with him. He has allowed all of this to drag out way longer than necessary.
A hottie with guts!...Go Shelly!!
The only offices that have been overwhelmed during the Coronavirus is the unemployment offices. I bet the employees who work claims are drinking at their desks. (Hmm, I wonder if they are hiring?)
I went and got a “bootleg” haircut today. It wasn’t in Clay Jenkins’ jurisdiction, but was still risking someone’s state-issued license. People have bills to pay - and I don’t need my 1970s hairstyle back.
