One of the most profound experiences I have ever had was visiting the Korean DMZ while on a business trip to Seoul. To my south was one of the most vibrant prosperous and technologically advanced societies I had ever encountered. To my north people were starving to death. The same people, and just a few short decades ago the same country. The only difference was the system of governance.
