A Florida hurricane may be about to hit Washington, DC.
Laura Loomer, a 26-year-old conservative provocateur running for Congress in the Sunshine State, is gaining strength with activists and donors buzzing about the possibility she is the conservative answer to New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
“She’s the Republican’s AOC,” longtime GOP strategist Roger Stone gushed to The Post. “She’s young. She’s energetic. She’s feisty. She’s anti-establishment, and she has an enormous national following, as does AOC, which can help finance a congressional race.”
Like the Queens/Bronx congresswoman, few took Loomer seriously when she declared her candidacy in the heavily-blue 21st district back in August 2019. Long considered a fringe GOP voice, with stints at James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas and the Canadian far-right Rebel Media, she is most well known for her strident criticism of Islam, which has resulted in bans from Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Medium, Paypal, Venmo, GoFundMe, Lyft, Uber, Uber Eats and MGM Resorts.

AOC won a very heavily blue district and she was a Democrat beating an incumbent Democrat (Crowley) in a change election. When she won the primary, she had won the election. Loomer is running in GOP primary NOT in a Red GOP district, but in a heavily Blue Democrat district. When she wins the GOP primary, unless the Democrat incumbent blows bubbles with her drool, the Democrat incumbent will win. Now, I do not know if there is some favorable issues that are lifting the sails for Loomer beyond her ability to raise money (no small feat), but money isn’t going to win this alone. She needs some angle or two she can exploit that has broad appeal *AND* she needs an incumbent who blows bubble with her drool.
I suspect that the GOP establishment hates Loomer as much as the Post does. A pro Constitution populist - What branch of the establishment wants that?
She lacks that sub room temperature IQ, for one thing, and could not hold a candle to AOC for comedic value.
Laura is pretty wacky but she is fearless. I don’t know she can win but if she does it will be hilarious because Twitter can’t refuse her an account as a public official.
So go Laura and Loomer them all!
AOC would win a wet T-shirt contest against Loomer.
While Loomer faces a Rat incumbent in a blue-leaning district, she has a shot at it because it’s not an overwhelmingly Rat district.
An issue here or there can turn the tide and people are in a rebellious frame of mind.
If elected she would become Trumps congressman. But she’s probably not going to win.
Hillary beat Trump there in 2016 by 20 points and the current congresswoman has won by large margins. That's pretty Blue.
Loomer won’t win many friends or voters by calling the 70 year old incumbent “fat and lazy”.
Loomer herself hasn’t missed too many trips to the buffet.
It’s an analogy, try to keep up.

Laura is tireless and exceptionally well informed. She will make sitting congressmen look like they are MIA when she wins. And she will win!
