It's NOT ending in nursing homes. They are cruise ships on land. Old, susceptible souls who are confined to rooms with like ventilation. Still exploding.
“I do have a dry cough but no fever. Whats bizarre is I feel dehydrated a lot, like my lungs dont have any mucus. Yeah thanks, Im going to call my doctor. I just may be the first Freeper who has this virus unless Im mistaken. I live in New York BTW, the most infected place on the planet currently unless the Chinese are lying.” - GrandJediMasterYoda

And if one is refused a test?
This was happening earlier, but I have been away a bit and do not know if is still common.

If you get into the cytokine storm mess in the hospital have your Dr look at Actemra by Genentech. Some Drs have had good luck with it....but before you have to be put on a ventilator!
The last i heard they were only testing if you were sick enough to get admitted but that may have changed in the last few days. Eat and sleep well and take care of yourself FRiend
For GrandJediMasterYoda. Thank you.
“medical professionals ran around infecting all the most vulnerable”
This happened from the beginning, all over the world, from China to Iran to Italy, etc. healthcare workers, including Dr’s spread it to patients in hospitals & nursing homes. They didn’t realize how infectious it was. I think health workers (especially Dr’s) kind of think of themselves as immune to most disease because they work around sick people all the time.
Steve, 99% of the population does not need to waste their precious little time on earth doing this. What is suggested here is only applicable to those few who come in direct contact with those who are at risk from COVID complications;
Good summary.
The second I found out COVID has a symptom of a lack of taste and smell I knew I may of had it already.
Hydroxychloroquine is safer than aspirin and should be OTC IMO.
Fixed it.
NYS also has had a lot of deaths in nursing homes. The vast majority of the deaths Upstate are in nursing homes. The lockdown of nursing homes should have come much sooner. Been the first thing done to my mind. And most of the homes didn’t have enough PPE stockpiled in the event of an epidemic. Not even short term.
Biggest problem: All were waiting for government, any level of government, to tell them what to do.
Didn’t that work out well for the patients in their care.
And then the states didn’t prioritize testing at nursing homes, or providing nursing homes with PPE and training. The feds TRIED to focus, but they are not the primary regulators for state nursing homes.
It is a shame how badly our state and local governments handled this, and more of a shame how the media is totally covering up for democrats in charge in multiple states who failed, while they launch nationwide attacks on republican governors who have done much better like South Dakota.
