I thought the OBC was $100 per cabin...
Just the vacation businesses that pander to elderly people who expect the US govt to come rescue them ( and put crew lives at risk) when they get sick anywhere in the world, maybe
A cruise ship isnt a supermarket
If I get sick in a supermarket it doesnt require a 14 day quarantine of everybody in the supermarket and an international medical evacuation
Derp
Yes, The Klan(Rats) will do it, if they can push more draconian designs on us. They use everything to their advantage.
To be fair all the lines are missing their traditional spring Norovirus season right now.
That’s all?
What a piker you are.
We need to deny any and all passengers any type of medical care.
All of them, and the crew too, for good measure.
I bought mine near your friend’s price. I was a little worried with the updated No Sail order but after reading it I said “this is total BS”. I recognize Obama-era bureaucratic overreach and blatant corruption when I see it.
Don’s Cruising YouTube gave a good review on its various violations of international law and maritime law which I agreed with. Greedy Obama holdovers putting their paws out as if Hillary is president. They know how cash heavy this industry is and they want a payoff. This was my thinking:
-Is the cruise industry going to payoff corrupt US bureaucrats in contravention of maritime law? H no! Do we negotiate with terrorists? And if they were paid off they’d just be back for more.
-Is it cheaper to pay off bureaucrats and keep paying them after setting precedent, or pay politicians to support maritime law and not set bad precedent?
-Once confronted the corrupt bureaucrats will back off. -It’s already started.
-The bureaucrats did not realize the main cruise lines are in deep cahoots in price fixing and operations thru CLIA and other organizations. They will quickly band together to defend their industry. Unified front and lots of cash.
“What percentage has it fallen since you bought it?”
The gains have offset all other losses YTD.
How bout they bring these purely self-electing risk takers to your hospital...you can volunteer as a candy striper
The OBC finagling is tricky. Last year we booked a 14-day Caribbean and when we got our confirmations and Trip Summary, it was actually two 7-day cruises, B2B.
We checked the Shareholder Benefits PDF. A 14-day cruise is $250 OBC. A 7-day is $100. So our benefit would’ve been only $200 instead of $250 even though the site advertised it as a 14-day. Didn’t seem right, but we hadn’t bought the shares anyhow, so it didn’t really matter. Will re-visit it next time we firm up plans and see if buying 100 shares is a good deal then. Anything can happen over the next few weeks, right?
You don’t like my ‘solution’? It’s genius, and far more encompassing than yours.
Well if you’re a frequent cruiser the 100 shares will be paid off after 12 7 day cruises. Plus there’s still the value of the shares. They’ve stopped their dividend payments for now so don’t buy for that.

That’s going nowhere with me. I used to travel to Europe and the Middle East several times a year. I cannot tell you the amount of times I got pneumonia on those flights. Some of the flights it sounded like half the people on board had TB. Then there was sitting next to people with their chickens in cages on the airport shuttle bus, stuff like that. The only good thing was in most ME countries pharmacies have a physician on duty. I just tell them my symptoms and I have a history of pneumonia and I walk out in 15 mins with a large bag of medicines for 40 USD.
I’ve never gotten as much as a stomach ache on a cruise or even the shore excursions where I eat the local food. Of course I’ve jinxed myself now.
Yes, there is enough excess healthcare capacity now that the Leftists’ General Strike (aka Shutdown) can be terminated now and there should still be enough resources on hand to absorb any increase in cases. Look at Sweden.
The CDC has made horrible decisions so far in this crises. When this is over, anything in CDC not “contagious infectious disease” needs to be shut down. Mission creep has rotted that bloated bureaucrat infested department into another swamp monster.
Besides having millions of dollars , many US Travel Agencies, ,politicians , Unionized dock workers, Million of American tourists, Airplane companies, hotels , and other businesses in this country related to cruising, and having thousands of American employees involved, I believe the cruise lines can fend off the CDC.
IMHO Americans will be motivated by the prospect of a monetary reward.
Let's get back to work and move some money around.- Tom
Keep in mind the US is still allowing people from all over the planet to fly into the US daily.
None have to hand over the results from an antibody test.
Cruise ships are the least of our problems.
