All this was for show. Biden is going to be sent to the happy valley home and Cuomo will step in without having to do any of the work during the primaries.
The dimrat convention will be one hell of a show to watch.
Democrats have put themselves in a bit of a box. Sure, the DNC can do whatever it wants — but it’s going to look bad. As you say, Joe is the only guy in the race, so how can they nominate someone else? It disenfranchises all the Democrats who voted for him. It makes elections meaningless — how can they argue for special pandemic election laws when their party doesn’t care about it’s own election results?

I think they will go through their convention, force a VP on Biden and have an official ticket. And THEN Biden will drop out. The VP will run in November. That will look a little less like “we-don’t-care-what-the-people-think-we-just-selected-this-guy-for-them”.
Makes a lot of sense; replace a bumbling old man who can’t say a complete sentence with the governor who has arguably done the worst job handling the corona virus - both in lack of preparation and poorness of response - of any governor in the country and who has a distinctly unlikeable personality.
Trump would similarly destroy Governor “Nipple Sticks”.

Yes. I do expect someone not named Joe to be the Democrat candidate in November, but I think it’s hard to see Cuomo as the replacement. They pretended for a week or two that he was handling the virus well, but he clearly hasn’t. He’s been a disaster. That’s not how you position yourself for advancement.
And yet during the eight dark years, if you asked them who Joe Biden was, you would get a blank stare from 90% of them.

Per the article, the “poll” was commissioned by the Club for Growth, and included something like 351 Democrat respondents (and geographical distribution wasn’t described). The purpose is obviously to undermine Biden and sow uncertainty among the heathen foe (Democrats).
The Dems’ should resist their natural tendency to cheat, and should stick to their nomination process. Just because he’s demented doesn’t mean Biden isn’t their best of show. I doubt Cuomo wants the level of scrutiny running for President would bring.

Democrats especially AA ones are primarily voting for Biden for the same reason many Republicans voted for HW Bush. We voted for HW Bush because of Reagan, and they are voting for Biden because of Obama.

Cuomo has a list of voter-toxic issues. Keep in mind he signed a full-term abortion law, with cheering dems surrounding him.
