>>>It is still the State Governors decision to close business.

And President Trump has praised them (especially the governors of Cali and WA) every step of the way. So - we can do it YOUR way - or Trumps. I chose Trump

PER THE PRESIDENT.......(@realDonaldTrump)

For the purpose of creating conflict and confusion, some in the Fake News Media are saying that it is the Governors decision to open up the states, not that of the President of the United States & the Federal Government. Let it be fully understood that this is incorrect........It is the decision of the President, and for many good reasons. With that being said, the Administration and I are working closely with the Governors, and this will continue. A decision by me, in conjunction with the Governors and input from others, will be made shortly!

May is too late unless you want to destroy the economy.

That is good news, that means some States will be open (or force to open) for business soon. I would start with low infected farm land states. The move out to other low infected states. Leave New York for last and high infected states for last.

Only one problem I see with this idea, is people leaving highly infected states to the states that are not infected.

“May is too late unless you want to destroy the economy.”

May is almost here, I say after the first week of May would be bad. I think they would want things open by May 1st.

My point is simply this: It is a false narrative - proven by U .S. Government COVID - 19 Response Plan - Phase 2C - and proven by the fact that the states did the shutting down on their own. They did not.

Trump has PRAISED Washington and California IN PARTICULAR - that the states did this totally without any Federal guidance. The did not. That is FReeper ignorance on how the system works during times of Federally Declared national disaster.

When Washington State and Cali did what they did - Freepers were calling them tyrants and Nazis - yet - it worked - and the President has CONSISTENTLY sung their praises. Why? Because it was the FEDS recommendations.

You cannot have your cake and eat it too. You can't call the governors of Washington and Cali a tyrant for doing what they did and not call the President a tyrant when he praises them for doing what they did when they did it (and especially for making the recommendations through Phase 2C). And again - if you have no clue as to what Phase 2C even is - you don't know enough about the conversation to even comment.

You have very keen observations here. I serious doubt 50% of the Free Republic would catch that. I personally think it should be the State Governor who should open and close. The Governor should have a good pulse on their own state.

Some one pointed out to me on Free Republic the Governor had to close the State to get money (bail out funds) from the Federal Government. I also heard something simliar to that for county level governments. Not sure of the fine details on this subject.

“You can’t call the governors of Washington and Cali a tyrant for doing what they did and not call the President a tyrant ”

If it makes the President look bad, they do not want it pointed out. I will digress from this one, very tempted to make a statement here, but it will piss off a bunch of Free Republic members.
