Several countries in Europe have announced plans to reopen at least parts of their economy and society.

Sweden remains open and has kept its borders open as well as its preschools, grade schools, bars, restaurants, parks, and shops.

Norway is planning to open kindergarten next week.

The Danish Prime Minister announced that she expects to open day care and schools up to 5th grade on April 15th.

And Austria is planning to lift its coronavirus lockdown while requiring citizens to wear face masks.

Outside of New York, New Jersey and a few other deep plus states where by far most of the coronavirus cases are at, the lockdowns should be lifted in most of the rest of the country at once, to prevent an unmitigated economic disaster which would be far worse than anything coronavirus can do.
Mr President, get rid of the partisan operative Fauci and his fellow alarmist Birx and get the country back to work NOW!

And the Aussies are also beginning to seriously discuss lifting restrictions (pubs and restaurants and stadiums not for a while, but other public places, etc are under consideration).

The following are the nine states that have refused to impose lockdowns. All of them have minimal death tolls from the Wuhan virus, including the populous South Carolina, and five of them have not enacted even local lockdowns:

Arkansas – 14 deaths. No statewide or local lockdowns.
Iowa – 14 deaths. No statewide or local lockdowns.
Nebraska – 8 deaths. No statewide or local lockdowns.
North Dakota – 3 deaths. No statewide or local lockdowns.
Oklahoma – 42 deaths.
South Carolina – 40 deaths.
South Dakota – 2 deaths. No statewide or local lockdowns.
Utah – 8 deaths.
Wyoming – 0 deaths.
[Data as of this writing on April 6 at 9 p.m.]

Naturally, all of them are very sensible red states.

On Sunday, most Germans are waiting in anticipation of a government announcement allowing some bans lifted on Monday (particularly hopeful of pubs and restaurants opening).

The death rate (bouncing around at 1-percent with each hundred of infected) is mostly due to keeping the infected rate low, and getting retirees to limit guests and visitors.....along with avoiding public situations (shopping). A lot of Germans have friends or relatives who do the shopping and drop the groceries at the front-door.

In my local German ‘town’ (285,000)...the death count is 6 people, and roughly 250 infected. All six however, are over the age of 70.
