Go ahead and shut down all the wet markets in China but you’re only half done at that point. Most of the countries which share a border with China have a heavy contingent of Chinese or part-Chinese people and guess what else?

I don’t know if they were bats or if the wet market was the origin or the lab. I don’t think any of us can know either way and I am not married to one or the other. Either of them is bad.
My point is that these markets are an established path for many bad viruses to infect humans. As such, as has been pointed out for decades by multiple researchers and clear evidence, they must be shut down. If they are not shut down we should ban travel and trade with any nation with wet markets.
They are that dangerous and have been for a long time. Consider that Covid-19, while very infectious, is not nearly as deadly as many forms of coronavirus.
Why should we take chances with world health or our own nation?
I have posted numerous times about how angry I am with China, the WHO, and our media. The simple fact is that China lied about this outbreak and failed to provide the world with real access to determine how bad this could be and act sooner.
This could have come from a wet market and that is enough for me to want them closed. If they want them open we should ban all travel and trade with China immediately because this is a justifiable reason if there ever was one.

What I do know is that everyone discounted the origin being the lab some 1500 meters away immediately.
That smells funnier than the wet market.
In the end, it doesn’t matter where it originated...the virus is here. What does matter is the level of response that has shut down entire countries.
