Ya think anyone buys into the heavy handed government overreach? Lots of them do. You can see many right here on this thread, as disgusting as that is.

“Why is there a lifeguard no duty if nobody is supposed to be in the water?”
So they can get paid.

Releasing convicted criminals from jails and prisons.
Arresting a guy for paddle-boarding alone on the ocean.
Will YOU trust police or governments when SHTF?

You can. But you are a fool if you do. And probably a dead one shortly after.

Our Country has lost its mind. It's Malibu. Liberal Central.
What's the difference between a Nazi and a liberal? Nazis wore a shoulder patch.

The modern US police state/surveillance state is no joke. Coming to a neighborhood near you. Our Dictatorial overlords like to weild draconian power early and often. Could have let the guy off with a warning. NOPE. They had to go nuclear.
When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

This ranks right up there with handcuffing 5 year olds. So glad they released the sex offenders the day before.

Wait a minute. I thought that, due to the Wuhan Flu, jails were too dangerous for inmates?
States such as California and New York are releasing child rapists and murderers because they are claiming that inmates are at risk for the virus.
What kind of sick Police State imprisons harmless people but releases dangerous criminals? The US is going down a dangerous road.

Well, yes, it’s called the Peples Republic of California.

In a Facebook post about the incident, the Lost Hills Sheriffs Station said that deputies were flagged down by lifeguards regarding a male adult in the water, disobeying lifeguard orders to exit the water.
Disobeying a lifeguard order? I didn't know they had any authority like that (obviously a private pool is different). When we lived in Virginia Beach, there were lifeguards on the ocean but it was still 'swim at your own risk'. They were there to help, but were not responsible for anyone, and didn't have any authority like that. It's mostly just open beachfront.

No. I think the logic is that they don’t want to have to do rescues.
