Former Vice President Joe Biden confirmed this week that Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) is one of the women he's considering as a potential running mate in his White House bid.
Biden, who has already vowed to tap a woman as his vice presidential pick, said Tuesday night he’s been considering Whitmer for the role for months, but that he is eyeing as many as 10 potential candidates.
“She made the list in my mind two months ago. There’s probably going to be a list, I’m in the process of, Brian, we’ll have it by mid-April, putting together an organization that will run the background checks…by the second or third week in April,” Biden told MSNBC host Brian Williams.
“I’ve thought about some of the women who I believe are ready to be president and I think I can work with and would be willing to work with me. It’s going to be somewhere between six and 10 of them.”
Whitmer, a rising Democratic star who flipped Michigan’s governorship in 2018, has long been seen as a possible running mate for Biden. Whitmer runs a crucial swing state that Democrats will almost certainly have to win back in November to defeat President Trump, and she handed Biden a high-profile endorsement before the Wolverine State’s primary last month, which the former vice president ultimately won by double digits.

If he doesn't resign as a candidate before the convention (a possibility) then he may be watching TV election night and say "I don't care. I will not concede to George W. Trump until I see Walter Cronkite say I don't have a path left to the electoral college win. I'm not a quitter. What station gets his coverage?"
You think the DNC is going to allow an upstart nobody to step into the presidency like that? Unless they’re intending to use the campaign to showcase Governor Witless in preparation for a 2024 run. I don’t think she’s going to flip Michigan at all, she’s hated by the people in Michigan, well, except maybe for a few low information women. They will never admit what a disaster she is.

If they think the replacement can beat Trump they will be fine. Nothing is more important. Rules and process are for the suckers on the right. I actually think Michelle O or Oprah were bigger threats before all of this. This virus thing has changed the calculus and I don’t think we know yet what effect it is going to have on the election. I think Trump is going to have to take some risk and do at least a partial easing in May. This can go on as is in May. We are looking into an economic abyss and his numbers will tank IMHO.

Michigan is a strange state politically as are so many others. I can easily see Michigan splitting into two or three states.

I am from Massachusetts, and have had to endure Studds, Frank, Ted Kennedy, Joe Kennedy, Any Kennedy, Warren, Pressley, Kerry, Duval, Markey, Coakley, Dukakis, hell, more than I can even recall and name any more.

I remember going to the Oskosh Air Show some years back, and at the end of a long day, my buddy and I found myself in a group of about 10-15 people from all over the USA, congenially discussing airplanes and such, and during the conversation people revealed where they were from.
When we said we were from Massachusetts, there was a silence, and one guy said in not an unkind voice...”Say...what IS going on up there in Massachusetts?”
When he said that, I felt exactly the same way I felt when I was eight years old, standing out in Right Field, with no hope of even touching a baseball, digging in embarrassment and boredom with my toe, furrowing up the grass.

I’ve been saying for the past couple of months that Whitmer is going to be SleepyJoe’s VP pick.
He needs Michigan to deny Trump a victory. Plus, she might pull in some other midwest states like WI and MN.
He already has the black vote way sewn up, so doubt it will be Kamala or Abrams.
Whitmer may be a total leftist, but she’s reasonably young, very well spoken, intelligent and not awful to look at.
It’s Whitmer. I’d bank on it..
That said, I’m also not sure Joe makes it to the nominating party..and they’ll swap him for Michele, Oprah or Cuomo.
