NJ is one of the most densely populated states of the Union with an enormous number of commuters into the city. Though it has some great medical doctors, the number of hospitals (in this age of almost socialized medicine) is staggeringly inadequate for the number of citizens. See my tagline.

Actually, “magic fingers” also objected to the other poster who implied the death was not from coronavirus. You are on the same side, so stop arguing,

Why would you do that to the poor planet Mars? We could actually use that planet for something.

I suggest shipping at least their leadership and all Poliburo and Party Members to Mercury. The side that is currently facing the sun.

I don’t know how much clearer I can make it. The OTHER commenter (SEE POST #7) said “he must have had an underlying condition that the coroner hasn’t found”. I posted a quote from the original article stating that the coach was “healthy and athletic”, and asked THE COMMENTER WHO SAID HE MUST HAVE HAD AN UNDERLYING CONDITION what it was about that quote (that the coach was “healthy and athletic”) made him think there was an underlying condition...clearly NOT “trying to justify his death because of underlying conditions”. Clearly stating JUST THE OPPOSITE. Jeez.

For what reasons?

1. To educate people that this is not just the flu.

2. For younger people to avoid risky behavior because they think they are healthy

3. To encourage people to continue social distancing to avoid this happening to them

Btw, you are not required to read every post, if it’s not your cup of tea.

Good idea!

They certainly have relinquished their right to live on Planet Earth.

He said exactly the opposite of what you’re accusing him of. It’s clear as day. Really, before you go throwing insults around you should make sure you know what you’re talking about. Actually, an even better approach is not to go throwing insults around.

Yes, and I agree with Ben on that. In many areas with lax social and business conditions, we should be as careful as possible, especially if many others in our locales are deluding themselves. Tomorrow, it won’t matter, that others perceived us negatively because of our caution. Words shouldn’t bother us, either.

If I see someone dressed in improvised Ebola medic attire but otherwise behaving coolly, I’ll hardly notice them. There were times, long ago, that I ran up and down hills in MOPP 4, full combat load, in 100 degree heat (training).

But if you are trying to justify his death because of underlying conditions rather then the virus the criticism stands.

Justify? Go to bed and sleep it off.

Let’s scare everyone for what reason?

Because a frightened serf is a good serf.

"Okay. Thanks for these kind of posts. Let’s scare everyone for what reason?"

Because we haven't seen enough caution in a few particular kinds of public places with much human traffic. Emotionally fragile folks should be cared for and calmed by their families--not by the rest of society dramatizing some pretense that the problem isn't serious.

Information about the disease is not the problem. The disease is the problem. Everyone will likely see enough of what will happen anyway.

We're Americans. Let's act like it and try to measure up to our forefathers.

So the U.S.A. is the home of the what?

Sorry guys, the context of “that statement” was intended by the blogger to refer to the previous line. I read it as existing somewhere else, and being used by the blogger to counter the first line.

Im glad to see many of you seeing through this government conspiracy, no-worse than the flu, its a hoax, crap that barrages TechRepublic.

Agreed. I used to be part of that group. Never visited one of their hospitals though.

Heh. Acclimation is wonderful. How many people did you lose the *first* jog? :)

And here I thought a 30 year old healthy man had close to zero risk of dying from covid-19

I think the problem is really that most Americans have high blood pressure and don’t know it— no symptoms. That’s the #1 “underlying condition”

Aria - nearly all of the cases worldwide so far have been of Old people (65+) and/or of people with compromised immune systems and respiratory systems (cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, bouts with influenza, asthma etc)

Healthy young people do not until now “one day feel well and a couple of days later they’re gone” due to this virus, so MrEdd is right to ask

But that was “until now”. Hopefully this young man’s death was an outlier.

Nope, not with regularity. It’s not a matter to panic - this is an outlier - in Italy and in Poland the average age of those dead is 72 and 69 respectively and nearly all with underlying problems.

This is an outlier.
