Devin Nunes: Majority of Americans Believe the Opposite of What News Media Says
Breitbart ^ | 3-28-2020 | Kylr Morris

Representative Devin Nunes (R-CA), the ranking Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, joined The Trevor Carey Show recently, where he discussed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) efforts to include non-essential measures into a bill to assist Americans during the deadly coronavirus pandemic.

One of the measures Pelosi and her party attempted to include in the bill was retirement plans for community newspaper employees. Nunes said:

If you don’t think that 90 percent of the media, including many of the local media, if you don’t think they’re working for the Democrats, you are fooling yourself. Why would they put that in there? They put that in there because they want these retirement plans, they want to socialize the news media.

Nunes said the Democrats’ efforts are a way to “promote their party to stay in power,” which he said is “not surprising.”

“I really think it was a misstep,” Nunes continued. “What they don’t understand now is that we’re approaching now half of America that when they see stuff in the fake news, they actually believe the opposite. They don’t realize that they’re having that effect.”

Nunes added:

What was maybe 25 percent of people three years ago, or before Trump was elected, just disregarded what the media said. I bet we’re approaching 50 percent of Americans: if the mainstream news media says something, they just think it’s not true and must be the opposite.

“It’s starting to backfire on them, not nearly fast enough,” Nunes concluded. “They’re causing panic, they’re really hurting the economy, meaning the press and their Democratic allies.

For 20 years, I have had a bumper sticker on my 27 year old truck that says,"I Don't Believe The Liberal Media". The other bumper sticker says, "Join The Resistance" www.freerepublic.com.

I drive that truck to the park every day with my dogs.(257,000 miles on it)

True.

Our local news paper the 'Mabomb Daily' is an insufferable leftard craptacular.

The regional media - Detroit Free Press & The Detroit News, not to mention channel 2, 4 and 7 news haven't been worth reading or watching for the last 25 years.

Devin Nunes: Majority of Americans Believe the Opposite of What News Media Says

That's probably true. For every person who believes CNN is fake news how many believe Fox is fake news? MSNBC vs. OAN? New York Times vs. New York Post? Add them all together and it's probably a majority.

All Trump can do abut it is plant the seed by inventing catchy phrases like ‘fake news.’ Hard lefties will hate him even more but those that we have some hope for will at least see the truth in what he’s saying. Peel a few off just like he’s doing with blacks.

“If you don’t think that 90 percent of the media, including many of the local media,..”

Not “including”, but “especially”. Local media is the worst.

“Local media is the worst”. Case in point. I live just across the river from Lancaster County, PA. Buckle on the Bible belt. Salt of the Earth folks. Amish. Reverence for God. WGAL-8 was THE station to watch, even as an NBC affiliate. Until Trump was elected. The once down-to-earth reporters now go out of their way to make snotty, snarky, mostly baseless cracks regarding Trump news items. And lately they’ve been flogging George Soros or Bloomberg paid anti-Trump commercials where they string together random words uttered by Trump on some subject, and foist it on the viewers as him talking about Covid-19. The founders of WGAL must be spinning in their graves.

Concerning the MSM, advertisers, politicians, etc.

I have boiled it down to:

If it is not in The Bible, they are lying to me.

The weak pejorative “it’s just the flu, bro” may even become a rallying cry as a measure of sanity begins to replace the media/social media- driven hysteria. Now wouldn’t that be something.
