House Starts Debate on Virus Bill as Trump Calls for Throwing Representative Out of GOP
The Epoch Times ^ | 03-27-2020

The House of Representatives on Friday started debating the CCP virus relief package the Senate passed earlier in the week as President Donald Trump called for ejecting a GOP representative who is considering blocking a vote on the legislation.

.@RepThomasMassie is one of the most principled men in Congress & loves his country. He is defending the Constitution today by requiring a quorum. There’s nothing 3rd rate about that, @realDonaldTrump. I may miss vote if he forces roll call (flights) but it will pass. Back off. https://t.co/ms8TM3rJp8

Representatives entered the House chamber to begin up to three hours of debate on the Senate Amendment to H.R. 748. The bill outlines payments to people and businesses, billions for airlines, and a large small business support.

Members were told in an updated schedule that leaders were hopeful the bill will pass by voice vote but that they should travel to Washington if they’re “able and willing.” Some lawmakers boarded flights early Friday.

Coronavirus stimulus is a historic, golden, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for politicians, ideologies and DC cronies to rob America blind.

My only comment is I wish he could throw the Democrat scumbags out as well. I think the stimulus is probably 50% a mistake but do what has to be done. D Day was a cluster F in many ways but it worked. Get on with it!

Massie looks like the geek who got beat up in high school, plus he has a wholly solar powered house. How he got elected in coal country is a mystery.

"principled" is like the word "factcheck".

I automatically stop reading after that.

Many "principled" conservatives are just surrender monkeys to the Democrats.

Massie is giving cover to the Democrats.

What an idiotic statement, to ridicule his appearance. He’s one of the few Constitutionists in Congress.

No word about the Schumer and Pelosi delays???

Massey is a hero. Democrats always Blackmail Republicans and they ALWAYS cave. “Never let a crisis go to waste”

Massie just saved Granny Wine Box's bacon.

This was ALL on her - but now the "principled Republican" has snatched the blame from aroung her and her caucus' neck.

How is he giving cover to the rats? He has it in his power to require a quorum of this elected body to actually assemble and vote. That’s what he’s doing and I don’t blame him since the bill is still thoroughly larded up.The proposed voice vote is that which is giving cover: no quorum present and no one in the record as actually having voted one way or the other

Nope, not now.

Massie has bravely caught that spear.

I really don’t give a rat’s rear end about the complaints. WTF is the house doing going on RECESS for TWO WEEKS. After all the bovine excrement they’ve been spewing about inaction by the administration (or dictatorial directives - depending on which side of the bed pelosi/schumer woke on), they decide to skip out of town WITHOUT FINISHING ESSENTIAL BUSINESS.

Principled - valuing dogma over common sense

Now he’ll be able to fund-raise among the true believers while not have to worry about losing his safe district.

Of course, he’ll wind up in the minority, but that will lead to even more campaign donations for standing up for his “principles” against the evil Democrats.

Win-win

The focus was on Granny Wine Box and her & Chucky's little stunt.

And anyone who gets covid-ed coming back to CONgrift for the quorum (that means ANYONE for the next 2 weeks after) gets to point the finger squarely at Trump and the Republicans.

Principle-wise, politics foolish.

Massie is a MIT geek, who has a solar powered house in not so sunny Kentucky.

Like I said, how he got elected in coal country is a mystery to me.

You probably cracked the code here:

“principled” is like the word “factcheck”.

I automatically stop reading after that.

Many “principled” conservatives are just surrender monkeys to the Democrats.

Massie is giving cover to the Democrats.
