The Federal Reserve just pledged asset purchases with no limit to support markets
CNBC ^ | March 23, 2020 | Jeff Cox

The Federal Reserve said Monday it will launch a barrage of programs aimed at helping markets function more efficiently amid the coronavirus crisis. Among the initiatives is a commitment to continue its asset purchasing program “in the amounts needed to support smooth market functioning and effective transmission of monetary policy to broader financial conditions and the economy.”

That represents a potentially new chapter in the Fed’s “money printing” as it commits to keep expanding its balance sheet as necessary, rather than a commitment to a set amount.

Well - this is exactly what the stock market bubble was blown up with in the first place under Obama - and Trump - so why not save it now as well.

Conservatives used to have principles about deficit spending and presidents sending budgets to congress with $1 trillion dollar spending shortfalls.

Used to. Not any more. It's no longer politically expedient. Now people on this site don't complain - they offer excuses.

“Real world data indicates that’s not the case.”

Only because they held interest rates REAL low. That, of course, hurt other markets depending on those rates.
