Despite my battles here with Hockey Stick Graph Man I agree with you all. This country is on a wartime footing, and MY President has asked me to make some sacrifices to protect the most vulnerable among us.

This is what bugs me. Ninety-five percent of the people on FR before this seemed very pro-Trump. Then this worldwide crisis starts, Trump goes to war against it and his supposed biggest supporters are doing EXACTLY the opposite of what he says. Trump wants to win. People here think that Trump is full of crap and are doing everything in their power to convince people not to believe him.

Welcome to the twilight zone...

“I am convinced that I caught this thing on Thanksgiving weekend. Thought it was the flu (albeit with pretty severe respiratory symptoms).

I think there was another bug running around. A bunch of us had it. Lasted almost a month.

I’m with you.

My family and I are 100% in on winning this thing. And then helping to fix any damage afterward. Whatever the President asks, I will do.

We’ve also strengthened the bonds with our direct neighbors in order to help and support them in any way that we can.

“Followed all the rules, except travelling all over the place.”

Absolutely correct! What a nutcase.

I think of people I know will be affected.

My uncle undergoing chemo.
My neighbor with emphysema.
The lady at my church battling leukemia.

It’s really all for their benefit. Trump seems supremely confident things are going to bounce back.

Alexandra Nelson followed all the recommended protocols:

Oh really? Traveling to at least three cities? This sounds like a family of super spreaders!

"I think this virus has already swept through our North Alabama community without a lot of fanfare."

Maybe not.

Coronavirus cases in Alabama now at 29; 17 in Jefferson County

Unless you are 90 years old and infirm

Mom's 91. If it's all the same to you, I'm going to do all I can to keep from bringing it home to her.

I wonder if there is a test to find out if someone already had the Corona virus?

Probably a test for antibodies, since if you've had the virus your immune system will have produced them. I'm not sure if such a test is available, but it would be interesting to know just how far it's spread into the population. My guess is quite a bit.

Absolutely. Those in the high risk category should do whatever is necessary. And, we are all heeding and supporting our president. I just want people to maintain a healthy perspective. This isn’t TEOTWAWKI.

Good for you. I think everyone should keep in mind there are elderly 60+ years old and people battling diseases that suppress the immune system who don’t want to leave this mortal coil just yet. If you’re not one of them, stop cleaning out the grocery stores shelves of things you don’t really need because you’ve already packed your attic and garage with them. Leave something for the vulnerable who can’t chase from one grocery store to another grabbing the toilet paper and cleaning products as soon as they appear on the shelves. That includes bread; I can’t believe people are filling their carts and making sure they’ve got theirs, to hell with anybody else. It’s disgusting. They ought to be arrested. Selfish pigs.

No argument there.

Still, I’d prefer the local grocery store not have infectious staff and not be contaminated for my now bi-weekly oh dark hundred Sunday morning trip.

I think the reason we are going to get big numbers with testing is because the virus has already been here a while, not because it is so contagious - and it is. The local medical community thinks it has been in our locale since about the first of December.
