Don’t get complacent. Biden is a good candidate for PA and supporting fracking is a losing issue among many suburban woman. Look who’s governor!
A ground game among women voters even in rural districts is going to be important.
Yea, been all over the news. Can’t get away from it. CNN et al going on and on about it.
I SO want to see them get their asses handed to them in November...
It will be “The BWAHAHA Heard ‘Round The World”...
Well, of course... that could NEVER be a “power grab”, because it favored the dems.
Amazing how that works, isn’t it????
They’re going to be crying even worse in November.
But I won’t gloat.... much, anyway....
Hillary won Bucks County district by 16% - A very good sign for November ...
Bucks is home to New Hope aka San Freakcisco East
When traveling through that part of PA in ‘16 was only place saw Hillery signs
Rest of area was all Trump
Again, can’t really trust off-year elections, esp. 2018. I think this shows that Bucks, like others, has solidly flipped.
Put Trump on this ticket and you’d beat 2018.
Applauding loudly from nearby Chester County.
We’re full of those damn pink hats and “I’m with her” types. Likely the same ones bellyaching that the local Wegman’s only had Scott toilet tissue left on the shelves. (I kid you not)
“called the elections a disgraceful power grab by Republicans and Turzai, and said the results dont reflect fair elections.”
elections are NEVER fair when Republicans win ...
Nobody would care about a representative vacancy for another six weeks at a time like this. But the danger was enough to kick the old people (including this one) out of their morning swim, but not enough to keep them from waiting in line at far closer quarters to vote, because these were "R" seats that the governor thought that he could flip.
I am proud that the voters figuratively spat in his face.
A little spin doctoring here by the media . . . The governor and state house speaker set the special election dates in consultation together. While the house speaker went along with popular wisdom that there would be higher Democrat turnout due what looked like a competitive presidential race at the time, the governor was more than happy to go along because these were Republican seats at risk. He could have, but did not, delay them in his emergency declaration on Monday.
The state house speaker would not have objected because (1)he no longer held the high ground or even level ground and (2)the supposedly competitive April 28th primary was no longer looking even remotely competitive and more likely to draw Democrat voters.
The allegation that the state house speaker has sole authority to set special elections is pure bunk and deviates from reality.
I’m in Bucks County and the term “deeply divided” fits this area. Our small district went heavily for Trump (we were poll workers for that one) but areas right next door were just the opposite. One factor is the “Hate Has No Home Here” crowd which infiltrated areas in Bucks & Montgomery. Plus, there is a lot of flight from Philly (younger & trending liberal, middle class), and also New Yorkers are moving into McMansions and Town-Houses that are going up like weeds anywhere they can wedge them in, esp. if close to mass transit. And yet, our taxes keep going up and up (even though the promises made when the housing is approved tells us it’s going to lower rates for all of us - ha!)
I guess I’m a rough guy, I always buy Scott. Goes back to growing up I guess. There was a Scott plant just outside of Philadelphia.
Complacent? I've been a poll watcher {in Indian country} since 2000, and have worked phone banks, door knocking, and donated every 4 years since then.
If every PA voter did half of the crap that I do, we'd win in a land slide.
There are millions of PA residents that are too lazy to even get out and vote.
The only reason the demonRATs win is they buy votes.
Suburban women are the reason given, but the real demonRAT victory comes from the unions and the plantation where the votes are bought and paid for.
Teachers, social workers in old folks homes, section 8 housing dwellers are all part of the graft line of demonRAT voters.
Without cheating, the demonRATs would never win.
Well then complacent isn’t you! You’re right if every voter who claims some conservative position even voted, conservatives would win most elections. But many don’t. I learned that lesson some years ago when trying to get the vote out to defeat a pro-abortion candidate. I ignored our local church group who sends a bus load to the March for Life every year. After the primary, I found that exactly one member voted!
Good news about the wins.
Wait..don’t all the folks in PA want to elect Democrats to shut down fracking?

I think it was only a 9 point win for Clinton in that Bucks district. I think OBAMA is the one who carried it by the larger margin you cite.
I’m so glad that the House Speaker apparently was the one who got to set the election dates and not the rat Governor.
