Disney will not be adding the 1946 animation Song Of The South to its Disney+ streaming service because it is “not appropriate in today’s world,” the company’s executive chairman Bob Iger said this week.
Iger made the remarks during Disney’s annual shareholder’s meeting on Wednesday when he was asked a question as to whether the full Disney library will be available on the service.
“I’ve felt, for as long as I’ve been CEO, that Song of the South – even with a disclaimer – was just not appropriate in today’s world,” he said. “Given the depictions in some of those films, to bring them out today without some form or another, without offending people. So we’ve decided not to do that.”
The film, which is nearly 75 years old, has become highly controversial in recent years for its depiction of black Americans working on a plantation in Georgia after the Civil War.

I got Disney+ free for a year from Verizon. I watched a few movies, tried some of the “documentaries” (ugh). Now I’m done with it. Meh...
I haven’t seen the movie in many years, but, as I recall, the uncle Remus character was a positive guiding influence on the little boy, and was not an insulting stereotype of black people.
If certain people had their way, virtually all TV and movies from before the year 2000 would be censored for the crime against humanity of alleged outdated cultural depictions and stereotypes.
And the irony is that those who want to censor what you and I see claim to be liberal and tolerant and open minded.
Before we know it, the USA will have lost its own history. What has not been destroyed by history revisionists is even now being erased or destroyed by the crowd offended by Civil War statues and artifacts, the Founding Fathers, and most importantly, America’s Christian foundations. Soon America will have no past, hence no foundations. It will drift upon the chaotic waters of nihilism as will its people, who being ignorant of the past will not know or even care where they are going.

The correct reading is “We hold these truths to be self-uh evident, all men and women created by uh... go, you know th... you know the thing...”
that part is fine.
BTW, I have a bootleg DVD of it. I found it to be over-rated and kinda boring.
The entitled, coddled and self-absorbed generations feel that history started with them.
