My son just started at the local police department and the other officers quickly told him where to eat in uniform and where not too because of this very thing.
A couple of years ago one of the officers went to Burger King and ordered a burger and drink and he ate it. A few days later he gets a call from a county probation officer telling him that when he went to BK that day his burger was thrown in the floor and spit on. The half-wit who did it posted it and a selfie of him on Instagram and the probation officer said the idiot who went to his probation weekly meeting was laughing as he actually told the probation officer what he did. The officer told the cop and he went straight to BK, had the manager pull the security video and sure enough it happened. He arrested the worker and he got 2 yrs or something like that and BK quietly paid the officer a nice settlement for the incident.
