President Trump announced he took the coronavirus test on Friday night and is awaiting results.
As the White House Coronavirus Task Force gave a press conference on Saturday, Trump told reporters that he decided to take the test in response to Friday's press conference where the president declared a state of national emergency.
"By the way, I had my temperature taken coming into the room," Trump prefaced his statement to reporters. "I also took the test last night. And I decided I should based on the press conference yesterday."
After declaring a national emergency to combat the pandemic on Friday, Trump was asked by a reporter if it was "selfish" not to be tested for the coronavirus, potentially putting others at the risk of infection."I didn't say I wasn't going to be tested," he said.
"Are you going to be?" a reporter asked.
"Most likely, yeah. Most likely. Not for that reason, but because I think I will do it anyway," the president said.
Asked when the test would happen, Trump said, "Fairly soon. We're working out a schedule."

The president is obviously tired but not sick. But fatigue is not good for fending off any kind of cold or flu bug.

The first quote about having taken the test is from a couple of hours ago, the second quote was from Friday.

I hope it’s negative for several reasons...one being that the Amazon Post and MSLSD will go crazy if it’s positive.
The President *is* fast approaching 80.
As of now, I am not aware of anyone reporting President Trump has it, but I think its highly probable since he has been in close contact with at least a couple of people who are infected.
And I think the primary reason it has spread so quickly is that it seems in the vast majority of cases the symptoms are very mild.
He was around 2 people who tested positive. I won’t be that surprised if he tests positive.

Trump is in good shape, but he is 73 years old.

But the white house and his cabinet need to be taking precautions. They probably should be getting tested weekly.
Yer welcome, I was watching earlier today when he said he’d taken it and said the results would take a day or two - he wasn’t sure how long it took for lab analysis.
The is a drug that shuts down coronavirus replication, remdesivir. Trump would like get it very early after a positive test. And never have any adverse symptoms. IMO.

Our local (Indianapolis) folks at Roche Diagnostics said this morning they shipped a half million test kits that take 3 hours to give a result.
He had NO temp..its been what, 8 days today since he was exposed, I think he’s OK..glad he had the test done, obviously he couldnt hide the fact that he had it done someone would have leaked it
If he already had the virus he would have a temperature, it was normal
