While not in the original article, The Zappa Band touring unit is: Ray White (lead vocals, guitar), Mike Keneally (guitar, keys, vocals), Scott Thunes (bassist) and Robert Martin (keyboards, sax, vocals). Also joining are ZPZ alums Jamie Kime (guitar) and ZAPPA archivist Joe Vaultmeister Travers (drums, vocals). The band will be performing a mix of Zappa classics along with new and rare Zappa compositions. Described as the ultimate Zappa alumni band in partnership the Zappa Trust this tour will not be appearing with the hologram of Frank Zappa.
So a bunch of old geezers will tour, while the snowflake-like grungers Pearl Jam cancel their tour.

Years ago I went to a real Zappa concert. The audience was *special* to the point where I expected to see interdimensional portals open up. Their 55 gallon drum “amnesty barrels” at the entrance were full of odd things more at place in an MIB movie.

Honestly I think that CLD touring and pulling so much heat from their prior works is a factor. Not to say CLD is just surfing on it. Their stuff is
uniquely brilliant as well.

I saw King Crimson years ago at the Celebrity theatre here in Phoenix.
I’ll never forget when they did 21st Century Schizoid Man some guy started dancing up and down the aisles frantically waving his arms about like a windmill or something.
All I could think of was, ‘and here he is (21st Century Schizoid Man) now.
I wondered if King Crimson, who could clearly see him, was thinking the same thing.

Sounds cool, but I'll be looking for Dweezil on tour.

Glad my husband and I got to hear Wetton (who passed away in 2017) perform with Asia “Court of the Crimson King” (also Downes did his Buggles “Video Killed the Radio Star” at the same concert) Great show.
