Bernie had a heart attack and received most excellent care and stents and was soon back on the campaign trail. This would not have happened in Cuba unless he was part of the elite.

He is elite and would have received this in Cuba. The common man would not. The common man in the USA would!

Fly my doctor in from Miami. I don't trust a doctor that can't speak English.

No worries, single payer and the new green deal will close all the hospitals and enslave what is left of docs and nurses for the very elite...aka Cuba

Although I am not a livestock expert, I understand that pigs are not particularly fastidious.

Someone should ask the old Bolshevik why when he needed heart surgery he didn’t go to Cuba for it.

Good story. Now here’s one that I don’t think has ever been published because few knew the individual involved.

In the late 60’s, I worked at a Sears story near me while I went to graduate school. Among our workers were three refugees from communism as well as the wife of an F 100 Supersabre then in Vietnam, and our leader was a Navy officer who was on the last US ship to leave with Nationalists from Singtao, China about 1948 before the Reds took over.

Gretta (?) fled from E. Germany apparently thru the wall. Victor Romani, a member of my synagogue and a leader of the Jewish community in 1967 Cairo, was tortured by Nasser’s men before he could fled with his family to the US.
AND Raoul Fumagalli (Italian), fled Nazi Europe (as I recall) to Cuba where he became a noted architectural designer of buildings in Havana, INCLUDING corner medical clinics for the people of that city.

He showed me a photograph book of the buildings he designed, including the clinics. I was so glad he was able to flee Cuba with it. He said that those clinics were especially designed for the average citizen who could walk in off the street for minor medical treatments. He was so proud that he could help make them real.

A couple years later as both a journalist and part of a fact-findings students missions to So. Vietnam (and a few of us to Cambodia), I ran into an American doctor, Smilkstein, in a shithole city named Bac Lieu in the Mekong Delta.

He was a 6 month volunteer there as part of the American Medical Association’s aid program to South Vietnam and their health needs.

Bernie Sanders is a hard core Soviet communist. Not a plain socialist, Democratic Socialist, Fabian Socialist, or Trotskyite communist, but a good old Stalinist/Brezhnev/Andropov/Putin red traitor.

He will lie about the real Cuba, the real Castro and Che, the real murderous Tomas Borge’, Ortega brothers, D’Escoto,
and one other possible Maryknoll Nicaraguan Sandinista priest (whose name I cannot find in several books on the Sandinistas).

Sanders is a psychopath. A real Red “True Believer” in the strictest of Eric Hoffer’s term. He never lets the truth get in his “Red March” to power, leading a team of hardened “socialist” cadres, followed by a mass of “millennial lemming” whose collective IQ about history is in the MINUS region.

THe man is dangerous which is why I want him to win the Democrat Party candidacy for the presidency. He will finally give the American people a clear choice between a hardcore Red and an American Patriot.

Obama fooled the gullible because as I think Biden said about him, “he was clean, articulate, etc”. He was a hardcore Marxist with Islamic extremist sympathies, and got away with his deception because of a totally complicit main stream media, academia, and corrupt Democrat Party/machine.

This time, Bernie tipped his hand too early and the Dems are going to pay for his and their being treasonous dupes BIG TIME in November.

Payback is going to be the Mother of all Bitches, and I want to be there when she bites like VENOM in the Spiderman sagas.

Yep, he also made a documentary bashing capitalism calling it “evil” and saying it “must be eliminated”. It’s so evil to Michael Moore that it made him a $50 million dollar fortune that to date he still has not given away.

I’ve been told the only time you go to a hospital in Cuba is if you’re really about to die. Otherwise they avoid the hospitals.

I worked with a guy named Tony who was born and lived in Cuba. He told me he wore the same pair of pants for a year,a bottle of shampoo is a luxury,if three or more people stop and talk on the street they are immediately broken up. Also Tony loved America.

"He showed me a photograph book of the buildings he designed, including the clinics."

Did he show any photographs of the squalor in those clinics after conditions deteriorated?

This the one?

Miguel d'Escoto Brockmann

D'Escoto felt called to serve as priest and entered the seminary of the Maryknoll Missionary Society in 1953. He was ordained a priest of the Society in 1961 before becoming engaged in politics. He earned a Master of Science degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism the following year, and was a key figure in the founding of the Maryknoll publishing house, Orbis Books, in 1970. He served as an official of the World Council of Churches. As an adherent of liberation theology, he secretly joined the Sandinistas. D'Escoto formed the Nicaraguan Foundation for Integral Community Development (FUNDECI) in January 1973 to promote a nongovernmental response to the displacement of thousands in the December 1972 Managua earthquake.[9] He continued on as President of FUNDECI, which operates in several departments in Nicaragua until his death in 2017.[10][11] On August 5, 2014, the Vatican announced that Pope Francis had reinstated D'Escoto as a priest after he had been suspended for thirty years for taking up office in Nicaragua's left-wing Sandinista government. D'Escoto had been banned from celebrating Mass by Pope John Paul II for defying a church ban on priests holding political office. D'Escoto served as Nicaragua's foreign minister from 1979 to 1990. He welcomed the news and said his punishment had been unfair. D'Escoto, 81, had written to Pope Francis asking to be allowed to celebrate Mass before he died.:

It’s from the Latin for “eye”. For Orbis Books, I think the connotation is throwing a “highlight” on books about what they consider noteworthy topics. For Orbis Business Intelligence, I assume it’s a reference to “private eye”. I assume that’s a coincidence.

LOL not that I know of. There's also an Orbis nonprofit dedicated to fighting blindness, and other nonpolitical companies with similar names. There was also an Orbis Publishing founded in 1970 in the UK, the same year as Orbis Books in the US, but they don't have any notable political orientation and no apparent connection. An unrelated company with a similar name was founded in 1994--seems to be a popular name.
