So, you compare the entire year of a virus to another virus that has been in the country 4 weeks.

In the past 4 months, approximately 25,000 people have died from the flu in the US! The Coronavirus has killed less than 3,000 so far!

Lets talk China. We can both agree their numbers are bullshit. I think they are woefully low. You probably think they are hight. So..for just a second lets look at the round numbers we have.
In China, they get the flu. We can agree on that. Its probably only slightly worse than the flu here. But lets assume we use the US numbers as a baseline.
In China they state they’ve had about 80,000 cases. These are cases that have been tested in the hospital. During a normal flu season a vast majority of flu cases are not tested or in the hospital. ?
According to the CDC, in the US, in 2018-2019 there were 35,500,000 (10% of pop) people who got the flu. The number hospitalized was 496,000 (2.4% of all cases). 32,400 deaths. That is 6.5% of all hospitalize and .0091269% of all infecterd.
This would “equate” roughly to the cases in China—based on their definition of cases.
Using some basic math, and the admittedly shitty CCP numbers, the Chinese people in Wuhan (11 Mil pop) has 1.1 Million flu cases, 26,664 hospitalized, and a death rate—from the flu of 1,733.
So, for average flu season in Wuhan, drop on those hospitals 65,100 MORE hospitalizations—20% or so with a stay in an ICU bed of 14-20 days on a ventilator or breathing assistance. On top of the flu deaths, of 1,733—add in 2,615 more deaths.
If you wish to compare the virility of the disease, lets look at apples to apples using the “best” numbers possible and assuming “best case” scenarios.
If that one-to-one comparison doesn’t make you ass pucker just a little bit you are either willfully trolling, not thinking this through, or trolling for some other entity.
And remember, in those hospitals in Wuhan, they normally treated every kind of disease and illness that would be treated in NYC or LA or any other urban setting of that kind.
Imagine showing up there with a heart attack or stroke. You would be dead before the ambulance unloaded.
The ONLY way they could come to any estimated number dead during the Spanish Flu was to, years later—many years later—compare local census data and figure out the difference in the places that kept ANY records...and extrapolate it around the world.
We have computers but they are not much better.
So, you look at this like the flu. You write as if this is an either/or situation. Its not. This is a concurrent, “novel” situation that NO system in the world is prepared for. You are seeing how ill prepared by our CDC trying to sort out a couple dozen places. Do you think that’s because they want to share the wealth? Don’t be stupid. Ask yourself how many bio-contained rooms there are in your local hospital. I used to work at a 300 bed hospital. We had two. One on a floor. And one in the ER. And they were almost always filled some shit or another.
So, please. Tell me how this is ranting and raving and inciting panic. Tell me how this is just another virus.
Run the numbers. Show me some facts. I shared mine with you. Show me something other than Rush Limbaugh and WebMd./

There are in Wuhan. You idiot. That is where this has been. There are 254% of the flue deaths, making the assumption the flu is as bad there as it is here.
