Limbaugh: Democrats who set up George W. Bush to go to war with Iraq now organizing 'silent coup' against Trump
The Hill ^ | Feb 22 2020 | Marty Johnson

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh on Friday wagged his finger at Democrats and U.S. intelligence agencies, arguing they tricked former President George W. Bush into the Iraq War and are now trying to do the same to President Trump.

"Now Bush, as a Republican, probably not popular with the deep state, particularly after how he was elected," Limbaugh said on his radio show. "A lot of Democrats, a lot of deep staters think that [Al] Gore should have been president."

"I think there was as much resentment in the deep state - we just didn't call it that then - for George W. Bush as there is today for Donald Trump, and if not the same, it's close," he added.

The deep state, Limbaugh asserted, planted fake evidence of weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) to push Bush into the Iraq War and is now "making up evidence" of Russian ties to Trump.

Rush is — to put it charitably — overthinking this.

I love Rush, but this is preposterous. Nobody needed to push George W. Bush into the Iraq War. He filled the senior ranks of his administration with a bunch of globalist @ssholes whose only qualifications were their incessant clamoring for a U.S. invasion of Iraq for years.

“Rush is — to put it charitably — overthinking this.”

Maybe. Probably. That said, if you can think of it, it’s possible.

Yeah, I agree.

But he’s right to a point. Judith Miller of the NYTimes really pushed the narrative that Iraq had WMDs.

I think, though, that who really pushed W into invading Iraq was war-monger Dick Cheney. Throughout his career Cheney consistently showed bad judgment. I can’t think of a VP who had more influence over POTUS than Cheney had over W.

Invading Iraq turned out to be a major fail. Because of it, W will, or probably should, go down as one of the worst presidents we ever had.

I agree. Bush and his warmongering buddies (Perl, Wolfowitz, etc.) were all in for a war. If they had any shame, they would hide their faces for the rest of their miserable lives and apologize to all the service people and their families who sacrificed so much for their grandiose dream of remaking the world.

The Iran war was not because of faulty intelligence it was because of the Republican President.

Russia Russia Russia was not the fault of the intelligence it was because of the Republican Candidate and Republican President.

Have I got it right?

So what in your arm chair position was the proper response to 911?

Right. All this twisting and turning to defend Bush is - for the lack of a better word - pathetic. It reminds me of those liberals who are still trying to absolve LBJ from Vietnam: “Eisenhower sent military advisers into Vietnam. So it’s really all his fault.”

Pathetic. LBJ owns the Vietnam debacle. And Bush II owns the Afghanistan and Iraq debacles.

CRIMINAL STATE UNIPARTARIANS CONSIDERING

There has never been a justice system designed to deal with this depth of wickedness.

The plotters/co conspirators/criminals who tried to take down the duly elected POTUS of the citizens of this great republic ARE STILL ON THE LOOSE.

BOLO

See something SAY NOTHING Unipartarians DO GREAT DAMAGE to the republic and its citizens.

An electronic curtain has descended over this republic. ?CONgre$$ and their fascist friends have subdued, suppressed, eliminated the voices of the citizens in the electronic town squares.

535+ the top 10 in each of the 350 agencies + the state houses vs. 230 million. How did Hitler, Stalin, Mao do it?

How about invading Saudi Arabia instead of Iraq?

It would not have been PC, but I would have bombed the crap out of those mountains where Bin Laden and his pals were hiding and never invaded any of those countries. I also would have banned any more Muslims coming into the US. If I were Empress for a few months, I would ban Islam in the US and deport all Muslims... yeah, I know that can’t happen.

I also would have removed all US troops from Saudi Arabia and any other Muslim country where we had a presence. No US troops should ever fight for any Muslim country. Let the various sects fight each other to the last man standing.

Iraq had nothing to do with 911, and there were never any weapons of mass destruction there. This was all hyped to get the American people to support war. Congress shirked its constitutional duty to declare war and gave the president carte blanche to do whatever he wanted. Thus, we end up with the impossible situation we are in now.

It’s a shame we lost so many good Freepers in the process ... folks who were banned or self-exiled in the mid-2000s because they dared to point out that George W. Bush was a globalist stooge — and a retarded baboon, to boot.
