Coronavirus Spreads in the Middle East as 5 New Countries Report Cases

Kuwait, Bahrain, Afghanistan, Oman, and Iraq reported their first coronavirus cases on Monday, all involving people who had been in Iran.

Bahrain confirmed a single case, a citizen who arrived from Iran via Dubai, the health ministry said in a statement carried by the state-run Bahrain News Agency. The patient was identified as a school bus driver and had worked Sunday, dropping off children at two schools.

“All family members and individuals who have been in contact with the patient were contacted and tested to ensure they are free of the virus, as well as being placed under supervision for 14 days at a designated quarantine center for suspected cases,” the agency said.

The health agency said that families of the students who took the bus have been tested for COVID-19, according to the agency. Schools and kindergartens will be closed down for two weeks on the island nation.

Afghanistan confirmed its first case of the virus in Herat Province and declared a state of emergency in an area bordering Iran.

“I ask people to try to stay at home and restrict their movements,” Health Minister Ferozuddin Feroz told media outlets about the situation in Herat. Three suspected patients returned from Iran to the province, said the country’s ministry of health, and the confirmed patient had returned from Qom, which is the home to the majority of Iran’s cases.

I believe I was one of the first on these threads to sound the alarm concerning this virus as it might affect Pres. Trump's chances for reelection.

The stock market is beginning a decline, as predicted.

The economy cannot be far behind. The economy of course is the strongest argument for his reelection.

The president must now be seen to be getting ahead of this virus. He probably needs to make a serious address to the nation in which he soberly assesses the contagion, outlines the steps he has taken, outlines the steps he is now undertaking to protect the people.

Of course he must walk a very fine line between talking to the people straight and avoiding panic.

As I said in my initial post, the Democrats will attempt to hang this around the president neck as Trump's Hurricane Katrina. He must be seen to be getting ahead of the problem both as a health problem and as an economic problem.

Given that this disease is in Iran, accidentally or no, it is now a terrorist weapon.

What makes you think the Iranians weren’t working on this with the Chinese. And the Iranians or at least the mullahs and their followers, are believers in end times and this could be part of that.

This virus is on a head-on collision coarse with the US election season and I don't see anything that can be done to stop it. It's looking more and more like a planned event designed to destroy the United States by first destroying China and it's role to provide most of our medicines, then to Iran to polish it's effect on an election, then to the financial heart of Italy to further weaken the global economy. The news media and the Democrats will take full advantage of these events to stoke panic and fear to further kill off economic activity.

If Trump wants to get ahead of this, he needs to place the blame squarely where it belongs, the globalist and their NWO, then announce that he is hunting all of them down until every last one of them is dead. This is where we find ourselves.

I disagree. The American people do not want a Cromwell they want and need a Churchill. He should get in front of the people and tell them what he is doing to save them and to save their prosperity. He certainly can tell them he has nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat, but he must also tell him about the sunny uplands.

He does not need to find villains, the president of the United States in his role needs, yes, to fully layout the danger, indeed, he must not sugarcoat the degree of risk but he must also offer reasonable grounds for victory and hope.
