Agree 1000%. This and some bad hiring practices (Omerosa, Scaramucci, et al) have been what has tripped up an otherwise great presidency. But really-not purging the swamp of the creatures he had e authority to purge was a big oversight. Obama did it. Clinton did it. He obviously didn’t understand the true evil nature of the swamp.
The caterwauling from the mediots had already reached high dudgeon before day 1.
Trump was distracted and most likely dissuaded from doing this at the time. Next year should be a massacre for all the Obama/bush/Clinton holdovers everywhere in the swamp

I agree 100%. Trump is smarter than that. Which makes me wonder if he was angling to catch them when they raised up to betray him. If he was playing that chess game from the start, I'm thinking Obama is going to be toast.
Yep. The worst moves Trump has made have come from humoring Ivanka. He put Jared in charge of staffing during the transition. (Jared promptly chucked all the work Christie had done on it, while bringing in compromised Israeli stooges to “vet” all hiring.) He also listened to Ivanka in trying to reconcile and go along with the Establishment, which of course about did him in.
I remember Roger Stone sounding the alarm on this back during the transition. He made the good point that there were plenty of truly Trump loyal state-level operatives who could have been brought in instead. (As the Clintons approached it.)
