The major difference between coronaviruses that cause a cold and those that cause a severe illness is that the former primarily infect the upper respiratory tract (the nose and throat), whereas the latter thrive in the lower respiratory tract (the lungs) and can lead to pneumonia.

Me neither. The US Media is certainly downplaying it. But then they would be causing panic if they seemed very concerned.

They would have mass migration. That is a total disaster then and I suspect if they are not sharing the numbers for that reason then other countries are the same. That is a huge problem for the rest of the world as we are only quarantining people from China.

Question whether those of Indian ancestry carry the ACE2 virus receptor in high numbers similar to (male) Chinese. But I consider the information in that area to be very preliminary given the extremely small sample size of the Chinese study (and I have not researched further than that study).

So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.
